Always stable and good
I stay here twice a year and really enjoy the morning buffet and the easy parking when doing events at the Convention Center in town! The location is central and the ease of getting in and out is always a must for me.

Central Hotel
The hotel is very central to the town. The parking is about 2 mins walk away, which does not help if you have heavy bags. There is a small gym and sauna which was ok. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was great.

The hotel has a convenient location in the city center, it offers a nice exercise area with locker room and a sauna. The breakfast is excellent with many healthy options presented in a nice environment.

Central hotel
Perfect location downtown. Close to restaurants, shopping and bars. Quite rooms with sound proof windows facing the inside court. Great breakfast buffet with lots of choices. Clean room. Access to gym and sauna. Hotel is fairly worn and in a good need of restauration in some places though.

Basic hotel, unpleasant stay
We booked on last minute so we got a single room with extra bed for two people. This was not nice but ok as we booked late. However, we had to make up the extra bed by ourselves. Not really nice, especially as we arrived late in the evening. Breakfast was a hassle which is, to some extent, undestandable in big and full hotel but still, it was a disappointment. No table to eat and everything finished all the time and no refill coming without long wait. Receptionist did not really speak english which made her also somewhat rude. She did not even try to be nice. Overall, not really a pleasant stay. Would not go again.

Located close to the train station, beach and restaurants. Value for money. Room was comfortable but do note that scandic does not provide a kettle as the water in Sweden is safe to drink from the tap. Swedish breakfast is served every morning

Clean room, good location and excellent breakfast. Quiet although in the centre of the city. Minor issue is few parking spots.

Nice little hotel, good for a business trip with a nice room, good internet and lounge area. Sometimes it took a really long time to speak to a staff member at the desk when it was busy.

Both the hotel and the staff need a make over!
Upon arrival I had to wait for a long time since the staff were busy talking to each other. This hotel is very tired. It needs a renovation. The wood around the door in the bathroom had rotted. The breakfast area was very loud and felt more like a hospital than a hotel. No attempt had been made to create a nice atmosphere. It felt like feeding time. The hotel charged me twice for the room. I had to make an international phone call to tell them to take off the charges. They did not even apologize for the mistake. The social skills of the people at this hotel needs great improvement.

Great for business
Really good, clean hotel, handy for the train station but a bit of a walk (10 mins) from the nicer half of the city centre. Staff were friendly and welcoming, room spotless with good level of comfort. Sound a bit poor on the TV, but a minor niggle in an otherwise good stay.

Staff were very helpful. Nice bar with a good range of beers and ales. Parking is a bit of a pain and a bit expensive but overall pretty good!

Very average with loud fitness music at 6AM
Nothing much to add to the title. Small room, ok amenity, and with great sound of electro House music at 6AM onward (non stop) from downstairs; i was explained thatt there is a fitness club where the dance excersize program starts at 6:15AM. THIS WAS A NIGHTMERE. I mean luckily, I had to wake up early that morning, so it ironically helped me get up in time lol. IF I was on holiday, or business trip with less time constraint, I will not use this hotel, or at least stay in the other part of the hotel which should be alot less noisy.

A place to sleep and eat a great breakfast
Just stayed to sleep and eat. The underground garage was very safe and nice. We were suprised that there was a charge since none was mentioned on the booking site. The breakfast was one of the best.

You can not sleep good at night in the area that we stayed, Nightclubs with high music, until 3 pm in the morning. Not recommended to familys that want to sleep, this need to be written so that you can do a choise.

Great choice for the affordable price
Stayed at Scandic Portalen for Dreamhack summer in Jonkoping. Twin bed room is a bit crowded for 3 people, but still it was clean, quiet even tho it was on street side, and breakfast buffet was AMAZING. Be it you want one or multiple servings you can have a pick from great quality of cheeses / hams / fruit / breads / yogurt. Jonkoping is a good spot for a normal vacation, but even more amazing if you're coming for Dreamhack summer or winter at Elmia expo.

Väldigt slutet, väldigt enkelt rum, inget eluttag för telefon vid sängen, tvungen välja frukost tid men var helt tomt så onödigt (vaknade tidigt och bara satt på rummet och väntade på min tid), trångt gym, bastun var inte varm och stod ingenstans hur man fick igång den, alldeles för tjock bacon till frukost.
