Oasis
This is a very small quiet place, a terrific spot to relax and get a wonderful massage. If you are a photographer or love antiques you’ll be tickled pink!Love this place 💕🙏

A pleasant place to stay
We stayed at the Sandton Boutique Hotel - 28a on Oxford for 3 nights in mid-August, and were lucky enough to score a free upgrade. The hotel is quite lovely, with period furniture and thatched roofs. The room was large and quiet. The bathroom was also large, but the water pressure wasn't great. There is a pool (looked lovely, but we didn't use it) and beautiful gardens with plenty of places to relax. Breakfast was abundant and very good, however, there is no restaurant for lunch or dinner. A shuttle or taxi is required to travel to nearby shopping centres or restaurant precincts (approx $A10/R100) - not an issue if you have a car, and there is secure parking on-site. We walked from Sandton Shopping Centre to the hotel when we first arrived, but it was a long up-hill walk and a taxi would be a better option if you have bags. There is no airconditioning, so the room gets a little warm, but it wasn't unbearable.

Amazing Hide Away
An amazing hotel that can be called a home. The staff are very helpful and quick to resolve any issues. The driver is always on time with a lot of patience. Breakfast is always on time and to a great standard. The hotel is one of the best I have seen with your own space. A great place to go with your partner for peace and quite. Loved it. Thank you for having us.

Great service in an old style yet modern place in a tony neighborhood. Only draw back is that you need a car or Uber to go any where

Fantastic Hotel and stay
I have just returned from a 9 night stay at the Santon Boutique Hotel. It is a wonderful oasis of calm set in beautiful gardens. It is safe and peaceful. William welcomed me and was most helpful and friendly; in fact, all the staff including Rafael and the others whose names I don't know were great and they went out of their way to make sure I was happy. They were unobtrusive too. The room was spacious and comfortable The breakfast was made to order and plentiful. I would definitely return. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Good location
This boutique hotel is in a great location, between Sandton main & Rosebank. Very friendly staff, room was clean, beautiful gardens. Not a biggie, but the room decor is antique and I'm not a fan of that style.

Could be improved easily.
We enjoyed our stay here mainly because the staff were so pleasant. The small things that one expects in the bathroom were not there. Two small bottles of all-purpose liquid soap really is not the extent of toiletries expected in a room like this. The attention to detail in the room was poor but the linen was good, the bed was comfortable. The TV selection was poor. We enjoyed the breakfasts but were a bit alarmed that the kitchen didn't function for a snack on Sunday evening. We were told to get food via Mr. Delivery which we did as we didn't have a car.

A Large Guesthouse in a wellto do area
A nice guesthouse in the middle of a well to do area. With large rooms and and excellent attended gardens and swimming pool. Loved the thatch on the roofs of all buildings.

Nice pocket of piece near Joburg city and airport
we only stayed here 1 day, it is a quiet pocket in a very busy city, and still very close to town and airport. Nice rooms, nice garden, swimming pole. good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Is more like a guesthouse, only serving breakfast, no restaurant facilities.

Love hotel with great staff
This is a lovely hotel with a lot of character with great stuff. It is in a beautiful, quiet, safe and wealthy neighborhood. It reminds you of an olden colonial era, very different than your standard hotel setting. I would highly recommend it!

Relaxing hotel in Johannesburg
The hotel is on lush green property that provides a relaxing respite to the surrounding city. We were there on a weekend and the restaurant was not open, but breakfast was served in the morning. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only thing that detracted from the stay was the construction going on near the gate, which made it feel slightly less secure. The neighborhood is safe, by Jo'burg standards, and there are plenty of security guards on the streets. The hotel is walking distance from the Sandton Mall, but was advised walking there after dark. If you like big, modern malls with stores you can find anywhere in the world, you will like Sandton. As far as we could tell, all restaurants are in the mall. Besides that, there's not much of a neighborhood feel. Went for a run in the neighborhood in the morning and felt safe.

Very nice hotel in safe area with lots of shopping. The room amenities were great. We had an executive and it was worth every penny from the kingsize bed to the claw foot tub. My only gripe would be the weak wifi signal in the room itself. Had to go out into the Lobby to connect either laptop or phone and when we returned to the room the signal died. Overall it was a good experience staying at Sandton

Quiet, beautifully maintained grounds in posh Sandton neighborhood. Good security. Able to walk and run in the neighborhood without worry. Managing staff a little stiff and not overly friendly but wait staff and security helpful and good. Easy to get taxi service from airport and into town. Hotel kindly booked this for us and was waiting our arrival and long transatlantic flight. Breakfast was on the scant side but full breakfast available on request at no charge.

Great hotel spoiled by uncaring management
Beautiful grounds and building in a great location. It's a pity they did not provide all the meals that were advertised for this hotel. For example, the expedia website lists then following: "Other amenities include a coffee shop/café, a snack bar/deli, and coffee/tea in the lobby." and "Patio bar - This poolside brasserie specializes in international cuisine and serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and light fare." None of this was available. The hotel was undergoing some renovations but no compensation or apology was offered for the lack of meal facilites or for the room telephones that did not work. It was not possible for us to make calls through the hotel system or to receive calls from others. Nor was any of this explained to us on arrival. On the upside, the serving and housekeeping staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming.

Horrible experience!
We left after seeing the hotel room. It was damp and musty and the bathroom ceiling was covered with mold. The TV and the internet did not work. The bed was lumpy. Even though our money was not going to be refunded, we left in a hurry before we could get sick from the hotel room's mold and dampness. They claimed they had a restaurant, there was none, no restaurant staff, just chairs and tables. The hotel is also far from town so you cannot just walk to a restaurant to eat. We feel deceived and rubbed! I will not recommend this hotel to anyone.

A gem of a guesthouse!
Had a great week in this place! The service and staff are second to none, the place looks fantastic with it's traditional African house look, the breakfasts were very nice and the TV in the room is great with it's movie channels. It is about a 15-20 minute walk to Nelson Mandela Square so handy for Gautrain etc. though as a guesthouse, in the rare event that you couldn't use Nelson's taxi team that work with them, a lot of other drivers don't know where it is. So asking for a fair price in advance is hard hence the need to plan things out with Nelson and co. The only *VERY* minor gripe is that the water in the pool was very cold but otherwise this is a fantastic place and I very highly recommend it!

Would have been a a lovely African character hotel in its day. Room decor is plush but needs updating with minor repairs. Can be a little cold when the outdoor temperature drops. Underfloor heating is not sufficient. Well maintained gardens and pool. Not too far from Sandton Shopping Mall about 20mins from central Joburg by taxi. Pleasant helpful staff.

One of the best parts of our vacation!
This hotel was absolutely perfect. Though it was difficult to find (several cab drivers said they didn't know the location!), its proximity to the Gautrain, and thus the airport, was perfect for our needs. The staff was absolutely incredible, very friendly and met our every need. And then the hotel. What beautiful grounds, spacious rooms, and absolutely perfect amenities for our needs. We truly wish we had gotten more time to spend at our hotel, and less time adventuring! I can't believe we weren't charged double!

Beautiful Boutique Hotel
My hotel stay was everything I could have hoped for. The best part for me was the staff, they were very courteous, and went out of their way to see if there was anything I needed. I would definitely recommend this place. P.S: the landscape is outstanding.

Great hotel and staff
Had a great time at sandton 28a. Great breakfast, room was big and clean and Nelson the taxi driver was reliable and friendly. Sandton is another separate town to downtown johanesburg but was easy to co ordinate with Nelson about dropping me off and picking me up from the city sightseeing bus. All good!

A nice little gem!
This is a nice little gem full of character, friendly staff and really nice room and garden. Only a few things is keeping me from given it 5 stars: The safe in my room couldn't lock and the lock in the bathroom door was also so tight I didn't dare use it. But I told the staff about both so hopefully it will get fixed before the next guest. It did seem to me like the kind of place that does take care of things when notified. Also I didn't know that the restaurant there is closed at the weekends. But would I book the same place again if in Johannesburg? Yes I definitely would.

LOVELY GEM in Johburg - Felt like HOME!
I almost don't want to tell everyone about how wonderful this place is, because I don't want to lose availability or the super good rates... but it was WONDERFUL! I felt like we were staying with family in a lovely little paradise. The rooms were SOOO beautifully decorated (we wound up staying for a week in 3 different rooms and all were great), the staff was so helpful and caring and the owner is genuine. They've created a warm and welcoming space for their guests. Food is good, neighborhood lovely - we even fell in love with the cat who slept with us every night (and I'm not even a cat person). My ONLY complaint was the construction going on across the street. So IF you want to relax during the days- and IF construction bothers you, just be aware of that. The pool is lovely, the purple lights at night... ahhh everything else rocked! i just booked 2 more nights there for this weekend.

Great Hotel, Great Location, in need of a refurb
We received such a friendly welcome and the staff was so lovely and accommodating. It is so conveniently located you are right in Sandton, it makes life so easy. The only down side was that the rooms were a little dated, carpet was literally falling apart and there were holes in my sheets. We were mostly out sightseeing, so the location definitely made up for all the drawbacks!

Great quaint hotel in excellent location
Stayed for a week at the Sandton Boutique hotel with my son. Lucia, the manager, welcomed us warmly. William, the attendant, was great. We sat by the main lounge on several evenings with William going out of his to ensure the fireplace was going nicely and we were well taken care of. Location is excellent in the Sandhurst/Hyde Park area with Sandton really close by. Considered to also be one of the safest areas in Jo'burg. Loved the cottages and open lawn area. Overall we had a great time.

I absolutely loved it there. Very beautiful hotel indeed. Bathrooms are heavenly, food great, staff great and the owner is out of this world. So looking forward to my next visit. Found a home in Johannesburg.
