Fabulous experience when the weather is good but be prepared for being very cold at night in the shoulder months, even with the wood burner going.
Pristinely clean and hosts very friendly, idyllic peace in the sunshine and I should think amazing with young children.
Only downsides are that you only get to go in the park during normal opening times (or twilight at extra cost), whereas it would have been great to get up, grab a cuppa and wander around watching the animals wake. Also, the pancakes on the breakfast menu are reheated shop bought ones and not freshly made which was disappointing. Minor in the grand scheme of things though.
I took my son away for a two night break and we had a lovely time here. Everything was good (room, view, swimming pool, food) but what made it special was the people who represent the hotel. One Scottish guy (I wish I knew his name!) was particularly fantastic.
Would definitely recommend the hotel to others.
It was impossible to fault our stay at La Place. The staff, rooms, food and location were perfect. Just five minutes from the airport and in a quiet village at the opposite end of the bay from St Hellier, it was a peaceful but convenient spot. The gradual climb back up to the hotel was a gentle exercise at the end of the day and welcome after a meal in one of the village's many good restaurants.
But the staff made this hotel memorable. They were welcoming and always helpful.
We stayed in the winter but plan to return later in the year and will definitely go back to La Place.
