"Zimmer war gemütlich eingerichtet. Man muss sich aber bewußt sein, das es direkt an einer viel befahrenen Straße liegt. Bushaltestelle direkt vor dem Fenster. Und natürlich die Züge vom Bahnhof. "This is a beautiful old hotel property. It has great bones and the rooms have been updated and modernized nicely. That said, there are some very quirky aspects to the property. Firstly, there is no reception - just an automated machine that provides a key card. "The property sends the checkin info via a link to Expedia message box. However Expedia app doesn’t allow links apparently so you can not follow the link to the checkin site. Fortunately I have my laptop so could login to the Expedia website and follow the link. If I didn’t have the laptop it would have been very hard to do the checkin. There is nobody at the property to help, no reception or front desk or anybody. It is all based on the code that is supposed to be sent you after finishing a lengthy check in process that requires uploading documents and taking photos. It would have been much easier to have the link sent as text with the explicit url to copy and paste from Expedia messages in the app. "

"The breakfast was not what I expected. It was ok, but I was a little bit disappointed... Also it was not included in my reservation and so I was charged for it as a separate fee. This was a surprise to me as everything I had seen indicated it was included. The first time I saw any sort of pricing for it was when I was actually paying with my credit card. Someone somewhere in the exchange was completely disingenuous. I'm sure there could be some finger pointing, but the fact is I had no idea until I was asked to pay. The place was nice enough and the location is great if you're visiting Jena. Kind of a bohemian vibe though."
