Looked much better on the internet than in real life. We stayed here in a suite during late summer 2023. We had high hopes but were severely disappointed.
Pros: 1. Location - ten-minute stroll to the vibrant waterfront / dock area of Hvar. 2. Easy to use wifi (when it worked). 3. Decent (not great) breakfast buffet,
Negatives:
1. Dysfunctional rooms with very little storage or shelf space, both in the room and in the bathroom. Our junior suite was smaller than the regular room we’d had at another hotel in Dubrovnik.
2. Old, outdated rooms. Our suite had filthy carpeting, a wobbly couch with stains all over it.
3. Everything seems to cut corners. They leave only 2 bath towels (tiny and so thin that they barely dry a person after a bath or shower) and 2 hand towels. This is not expected for a luxury hotel. Also, they don’t leave you with extra anything (toilet paper, tissues) in the room. So you’d better hope you don’t run out.
4. Service - they just don’t seem happy to work here and it shows. Many of the people (breakfast buffet) are efficient but not customer-friendly.
5. Bedding is hard and not enough pillows or blankets.
6. Cleanliness - there was a dirty band-aid on our floor when we checked in. Gross.
7. Sporadic wifi.
8. Crowded pool - can’t even get in/our of a lounge chair from the side - must climb in from the foot because they are all wedged together.
We’d go back to Hvar, but NOT this hotel.
