Whistler's Inn is in an ideal location in the town of Jasper. Very cozy Inn for a night's stay. Nothing elaborate, but is exactly what you need after a day of skiing.

Not for business

Posted 22-Mar-2017
Pros: the locaiton
Cons: soundproofing and a good carpet cleaning, especially in the lobby
It was loud and smelled like alcohol. The room was small, which is okay, but it smelled stale and it was dated. The worst part was the banging and thumping from above. Not sure if my room was right below the rooftop deck or if I just had inconsiderate neighbours, but it was considerably noisy and went on for quite some time.

The Whistlers Inn was a pleasant surprise for my daughter and myself. The rooms had been recently updated and the roof top hot tub and steam room was fantastic. 72 steps from Earl's an added bonus.

Pros: close to everything - shopping, restaurants, bars, downtown nightlife
Cons: see comments on heating in rooms above.
Room was excessively warm throughout the stay. When mentioned to front desk I was informed I should open the windows yet every window in the hotel tells people if they open the windows they are liable for any damage to the heating system. It would seem staff are unwilling to correct the issue rather than resorting to unacceptable compromises by the person staying in the room.

Thank you for your feedback. Please note that the notice on the window refers to opening the windows if the temperature is below -10 C as the hotel is heated by boiler heat and a steady stream of cold air on the pipes is likely to result in freezing and damage to them. By informing you that it was ok to open the windows, the staff were letting you know that the exterior temperature was warm enough to allow you to quickly cool the room to meet your personal needs.

Relatively clean. Don't eat at the on site restaurant although food is decent it is overpriced. We were charged 6.99 for splitting a pasta dish. I can see a charge for dishes including vegetables and potatoes if giving to each person but a pasta doesn't require any extras.

Staff was nice, but the hotel was in bad condition

Posted 25-Feb-2017
The hotel smelled like stale smoke, the beds were rock hard, and the room was very small we could barely get through the space between the beds and the dresser. The hot tub in a good location, but there were plastic floating pieces of plastic in it. The only benefit is it's right in downtown. Overall not a good stay.

We are sorry to read that you did not enjoy your experience. The light plastic covers on the outdoor hot tubs are there to assist in keeping the heat in and dust out and are designed to easily be removed. We hope you contacted the staff while you were here to give us the opportunity to improve your stay.

Location, Location, Location

Pros: Location, clean, convenient, staff excellent.
Location: Location wonderful and central to all downtown facilities.
Location was perfect. Right across the street from the train station and central to all the downtown shops and places to eat. Beautiful view from hotel.

Hotel and amenities were fantastic. Finding parking was the only negative aspect we had experienced.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry for the miscommunication about which restaurant would be open during your stay and hope that you chose to visit Smitty's for breakfast.
