Absolutely in love with James Bay Inn - is now our go-to hotel when visiting Victoria. The staff are kind and personable, the hotel is exceptionally clean, Jas convenient and free parking and wifi, and walking distance to all major attractions. This is truly a gem!

Hi vanja! Thank you so much for sharing so much for us. We appreciate the feedback and can't wait to see you again. Cheers
The location is great---near the Museum, the harbour, shopping, in a very historic part of Victoria. The hotel itself, its restaurant an oub are all warm throwbacks to an earlier era. The food in the pub and dining room is excellent. The staff are very accomodating.

Quaint hotel in the heart of James Bay. Historic building with character.
No elevator, steep stairs
Rooms are quirky and not totally level, but it adds to the charm
Wonderful staff

Clean, comfortable, convenient. Room is small-ish for 2 people and warm, but good bed and both pub and restaurant are good choices.

Hi Blake, thank you for taking the time to rate us. Breakfast starts at 7:30 am each and every day! Sorry that we couldn't accommodate you outside of the restaurant hours. Cheers
Nice quaint inn with lots of charm; balcony, sitting areas outside rooms, tiffany lights, and artwork.
Easily walkable to nearby attractions and downtown
Extra amenities: newspaper, coffee, lemon water and hot water on request.
Central heating throughout, room was very warm.

Hi Angela! Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience. It was a pleasure having you as our guest and we hope to see you again soon.
The James Bay Inn has much Victorian charm and is within walking distance to downtown Victoria, James Bay shopping district and Beacon Hill Park. The room was spacious and comfortable.
Parking was difficult on the weekend due to pub patrons and I had to park on the street one night. The breakfast menu could be more affordable (coffee $4.50).

Thank you Stephen for taking the time to share your experience. We appreciate your kind words and hope to see you again. On a side note, average price for dine in coffee in Victoria is 5 and that is not refillable. Our 4.50 coffee is bottomless. Thanks again. Cheers
The parking is a little tight for my pickup truck. Also the stairs are a challenge with mobility issues

Found the hotel to be very quaint with the couches in the common areas outside the rooms.
One minor issue, rooms not too sound proof.

I like the uniqueness of this old building. It was well kept. What I didnt like was there was a dark thick hair in the bathroom sink and another one in the shower not belonging to me.

I’m sure along with everyone else I am just sick and tired of being asked to do surveys from walking into a store to staying in a hotel. In this case, James Bay hotel is worth it! I couldn’t stop talking about it to people I met on the street! What a lovely place to stay! Expedia made it affordable at $110 bucks a night so dig around you can find a great deal! The suite I stayed in was very comfortable and big, the staff are really great!

Enjoyed our stay, but didn't realize how tiny our room was. Would probably feel larger if painted in lighter colours. Good mattress tho so didn't affect our sleep.

Hi Laurel! Yes petite rooms admittedly are small, but they are our most economical as well. That is why they tend to be first choice for many. On your next stay we recommend choosing a queen or king sized room. For even a bigger experience try our suites or cottage. We hope to have the pleasure of hosting you again. Cheers
Really enjoyed the suite. Nice, clean, roomy and fully equipped.

This is an older property and seems to be undergoing renovations. Our room was very tiny. The bathroom needed a bar to hang your towel and face cloth. I picked the room for location and price and feel we got what we paid for.

Thank you Roger for being our guest. No major renovations, just replacing a couple of smalll patches of stucco on the exterior. Basically general maintenance for a building of 113 years. No towel bar as there are bar shelves that are used as shelves or a towel rack. The room size "petite" with a double bed is our smallest and most economical. For a bigger experience we recommend booking at least a queen sized bed or a king size for even a bigger experience. Thank you for being our guest, we hope to have thw pleasure again.
