Fantastic stay at the Fisbourne Inn, great friendly staff, large room with view out to the sea. Tasty food, large portion size, great service. Less than 5 minute walk from the ferry from Portsmouth.

Lovely and enjoyable
Very welcoming, enjoyed our stay, great service and staff, loved the breakfast. Very accomdating with our dietary needs. Room was a decent size with a lovely comfortable large bed, the room had everything you needed to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible. Felt very relax during my stay with sea views and a lovely decor pub below which servered great food.

The positive was the service received from Tracy who checked us in and was on breakfast service the following morning, she was fantastic. The room and bathroom were filthy, particularly the bathroom. The lack of cleanliness seemed to have been accumulating over time, not just on prior guests check out.

Lovely staff, view, convenience
Truly friendly, helpful, informative staff. Leafy views, quite peaceful location considering it’s conveniently located a stone’s throw from the ferry.

A great shower, hot water and nice and clean, a hanging facility for the towels in the bathroom would be useful. The room was good for the price. Needs a little dusting behind the bedside table, otherwise clean, only noticed because I was going to use the plug. Lovely to have a radio and tv in the room. Otherwise the room was cute, quiet and comfortable. We also enjoyed a good lunch, the dish of the day, salmon, purée and roasted broccoli, very tasty. The service was good, helpful and friendly throughout my stay. Very thoughtful to have given me a take out breakfast as I was leaving early. Only 1 minute from the ferry. Perfect! Hope to use the Fishbourne again.

The Fishbourne is an excellent bar and restaurant with a small number of bedrooms which are furnished to a high standard. A charming place to stay.

Family trip to IoW
Very friendly staff from the beginning of the trip and overall great family experience. Parking seems to be an issue based on other reviews but our experience was quite nice, and signs are posted all around. Food is also nice quality, although the pizzas are a bit too cheesy for our taste. The pub has a great atmosphere and both of our kids have been spoiled by the staff’s kindness.

My room was lovely, and the food was excellent. My only two issues were the noise from the pub around clearing out time, and the heating seeming to turn off automatically around 10pm which made my room colder than I would like around bedtime. I would stay here again though - staff were lovely, and my stay was very nice.

Great place!
Such a great stay at the Fishbourne. The room was really pretty, cosy and clean with plenty of space. Had everything we needed ( and extras ) with a free Christmas gift! Which was so appreciated. Great value for money. The staff in the hotel and restaurant/bar were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant evening dinner was fab and the breakfast divine. I’d recommend the eggs Royale and eggs Florentine, presented beautifully. Thanks to all the staff for a lovely stay.x

Fantastic find!
Absolutely loved our stay at this adorable property!! Beds were super comfy, breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices including vegetarian options, and free on-site parking. The staff was so friendly, garden was lovely, and we could see the sea from the property. Would definitely recommend.

Tiny room but great food
Pub was cosy, food was great and the staff really good. Mainly disappointed with the room… very overpriced, £98 per night for what’s essentially a box room with an uncomfortable bed. However, it was clean and nicely decorated just very small for the price.

Our bedroom was located above the kitchen so cooking smells invaded our space.The bedroom was also above the bins and beer barrels---so early morning noise. The staff were lovely but the food far from satisfactory. We wrote to Expedia but received NO REPLY. We also wrote to the manager of the hotel--again NO REPLY. We did leave a day early and explained this to both Expedia and the Hotel.The location was ideal for us but our stay was spoiled and we hope that both EXPEDIA and the Hotel will take note

Room was lovely and we were all comfortable whilst staying there. We also really liked the location - right next to the port but at the same time you can walk down the pathway and see the boats crossing. The pub it self is also very nice and has a lot of potential to do really well - unfortunately the staff were hit and miss - one older lady with long blond hair was very efficient the 2 times we dealt with her but the other staff though friendly were quite slow with taking orders for breakfast or even the one time we had dinner and with serving food. We tried eating there for dinner one night and the food was extremely disappointing. Not even the kids burgers or adults food was edible. Greasy, lots of griscel...my partners steak was also very chewy - we wished we had cut our loss when we had the bad starters and not ordered any mains and gone elsewhere...instead we went to mcds for our dessert....we even heard the table next to us saying how they found their steak to be unedible and the man said to his son "normally steak isnt like this"....bearing in mind none of us finished our food and left more than half of each of our plates no staff even asked if there was a problem with the food... such a shame as the venue has potential to be great - but food there is awful and the staff need to be more attentive...but if you just need a room then it will work! Did I mention we also got charged double for our stay - luckily though they dealt with this quickly once I called up....

This could be a little gem but our visit was very disappointing . they ran out of many choices of foods there was not enough Dairy free alternatives . On our leaving day there was no chef so we could only have toast . We were told the manager would come in and cook breakfast but we were unable to wait as we had a appointment . Overall a very disappointing experience and will not be returning .

A very nice surprise!
The Fishbourne staff made us welcome from the moment we stepped into the Hotel. We had the king standard room which has a third bed, if needed. It was excellently furnished and very comfortable and cosy. The only criticism would be the rather flat pillows. Maybe a firmer one AND a softer one would please everyone. Our evening meal was good and a good cjoice for breakfast. Would definitely recommend. We were heading to Ryde so the location was good for us.
