"Pleasant Hotel, few minutes walk to beach."
Pleasant Hotel, could do with some updating, our room looked nothing like web site pictures but it was clean and comfortable. Breakfast choice is very limited if you don't like cooked, but my husband assured me the cooked was very nice! Parking is on a first come first served basis, there were 2 mini buses taking 5 spaces during our stay but we managed to park alongside building next door. Could be a problem in the height of the season. Staff very friendly and helpful, would stay here again if visiting Shanklin!

"The Wight Hotel"
I read the reviews and then visited with my partner and 2 yr old. This hotel is perfectly situated for lots of attractions but also has great facilities if the days not great. The indoor pool is perfect and we both took advantage of oasis spa, lovely lady and great service again. Breakfast far out ways any major chain and we loved it. We will stay here again and recommend to anyone.

"Going Back in Time"
If you like big old houses that have seen bygone times then this is the place for you. The hosts were welcoming, friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The rooms are large and spacious without central heating and double glazing but our hosts lit lovely log fires to keep us warm, a very different experience to your normal B & B.

"Good location"
a nice hotel in a great location 3 minutes from the cliff. I noted before I booked that a few previous guests had complained about the room being very cold at night. As most had stayed in winter months and I was going in late April I ignored this! As it turned out we had a very cold snap, and the previous reviews were correct. Instead of just submitting a bad review I took the time to report it to the owners and they could not have been more helpful. When I returned to my room they had put in a freestanding electric heater to assist the wall mounted one. That was all it needed and the room was nice and warm for the remained of the stay. The hotel is a very old building and I guess it does get cold in the winter months, but just tell the owners. The breakfast was wonderful, and far exceeded expectations for a seaside hotel. Overall a nice stay with really nice and genuine owners.

"great hotel in a superb location"
We arrived on a bank holiday weekend and easily found a parking space and left the car to explore the area before checking in after the stated time. Even though we booked a twin room (was only room left) we were pleased to be allocated a double room which seemed to be a family room as it had bunk beds too, no problem for us. We had a quick drink in the pleasant bar and charged it to our room and then headed out for the evening. The check out was a good time 11am and we had a very nice breakfast, the staff were quick to acknowledge us and take our order for food and drinks. The selection for the buffet was very nice with a good range of items to choose from and after a short wait our hot breakfast arrived which was delicious and set us up for the day. On check out the staff member serving us was very friendly and checked we had enjoyed our stay, which we did and wouldn't hesitate to recommend and return at a later date.

"The views alone are worth the money!"
We booked one of the top floor rooms along with a sea facing balcony and the view alone was worth the money! The balcony had a couple of chairs and a small table and you could sit for hours watching the sea and the beach. The seafront was a 5 minute walk away, (quite a steep hill), with some great places to eat and the town was 5 minutes walk away as well. The room itself was comfortable & clean with a comfortable bed, lovely shower and to be able to wake up in the morning to the sound of waves was great! Breakfast was lovely and contrary to some other reviews on here, the staff were all excellent & very friendly. The building is old, so unsurprisingly there is some flaky paint and rough walls. If you want boring modern, go to a premier inn: this is a gorgeous old building with all that goes with it. Ignore some of the negative reviews on here: if you are expecting dull faceless modern hotel rooms, this isn't the place for you, but for some character, this was great.

"Very good hotel near the town"
The hotel is easy to find, parking is very good and because the hotel is near the centre of town its easy to. leave the car an walk to bars, restaurants etc. The room looked newly decorated and the was spotless, we had room 19 which as on the top floor and has a sea view. We had a very comfortable nights sleep and despite the wedding reception going on down stairs had a very quiet night. Breakfast was well cooked and we felt that that the staff were attentive whilst not being over fussy. Altogether a very good stay and we will be returning.

"Perfect for a quiet night!"
I only had the one night here and it was very comfortable and relaxing with very friendly staff. The room was just right, nice big comfortable bed, warm, very clean, and tea and coffee! I had a very good sleep, too good in fact because I overslept for breakfast! Parking is no problem, either on road or in the hotel car park. I thoroughly recommend if you're looking for a relaxing, quiet time with no fuss!
