5 bedroom accommodation in Kildonan

Family-friendly cottage in Isle of Arran
One of Scotland’s best holiday homes. Porta Leacach House is sublime on all fronts. Don’t hesitate to book, it will be one of the best decisions you’ve ever made.. Porta Leacach House is a unique holiday home situated right beside the shore on the Isle of Arran. Built in 1896, this detached house has been sensitively refurbished and is now decorated to the highest of standards offering amazing, light and natural interiors that work in harmony with its coastal location. The seashore setting provides panoramic views across the Firth of Clyde to the Ayrshire coastline and the islands of Alisa Craig and Pladda. As well as being coastal and having direct access to the sea, Porta Leacach House it set within its own 32 acres of gardens and grounds. The house is also just on the edge of the village of Kildonan which has a hotel with bar and restaurant.

Nearby Whiting Bay has more services including a farm shop, café/bar and bistro. Being based at Porta Leacach House in the south of Arran means you’re surrounded by some of the island’s most scenic walks, not only along the shore but inland too. A favourite is through the forest to Glenashdale Falls. Arran is the most southerly of Scotland’s islands and is easily accessible from Glasgow, Edinburgh and other parts of the UK.
