Great experience from check in to check out! Loved the grounds with hammocks, romantic seating areas, bbq grills dotted around. Reception staff amazingly helpful, took advantage of the free kayaks & bikes which was fun! Rooms small but adequate for the 2 of us, furniture well worn but I suppose this added to the character! Complimentary breakfast was a god send in the Italian restaurant which, by the way, was yummy!! Beautiful sunsets in a little gem of a place.....I would definitely return 😍
Went there on a family trip. I loved everything about it. The resort provides kayaks, fishing poles, paddle boards, snorkeling gear and bikes so you always have something to do. The hammocks and chairs facing the water are perfectly placed and the pool is a heated. I loved that every room had a balcony facing the water. I would definitely come back with my other half.
Based on the photos on Expedia we booked this 2 br suite for our family vacation.
The room we were assigned was DISGUSTING. The front door looked like it was opened with a crowbar, there was filth all over the walls. My children's feet turned black on the bottom from walking on the floors. The furniture was broken, there were no towel bars, and it was infested with cockroaches. One actually ran UP my leg while I was preparing breakfast for my daughter. All the hotels in the area were booked, otherwise we would have left. We stayed there for 2 nights with promise of a room move, and they did eventually come through.
After much ado, we were assigned to a room that had been more recently updated and it was just fine. Everything was new inside except for the bathroom. It was clean and bright and fortunately saved our vacation. We would return, only if we had guarantee of the updated room.
Casa Morada is for "getting away from it all". The (small) grounds are truly spectacular in their zen like simplicity. They are ideal for contemplation, meditation or just sun lounging. Our "suite" was a big, light bedroom furnished in a minimalist way. The closet was designed for a nudist colony. the bathroom was small, even pokey, but it had all the essentials. The external terrace/balcony was intended for midgets.
One must regard half of the daily rate as paying for the room and service and the the other half for the "ambiance" - which is great!!

This resort has beautiful plants and landscapes. The beach could use cleaning. Rotting sea oats are distracting. Pools could use a touch up. Greeting staff could be kinder. Suggestions for activities and attractions would be helpful. An interest in the customer would be helpful. Beautiful views from all restaurants with nice staff. Overall, it's a nice stop on the way to the keys. Chef Michael's restaurant nearby was wonderful.
"Not a bad place if you just staying for one night."
I booked this hotel because they were pet friendly. But when I called to double check because I have a pitbull they do have breed restrictions. And that was a huge disappointment for me. But when I got there and my room was very clean and neat. the only complaint I have is the AC unit was a little noisy. My room was very small though but if you're staying for one night it's really all you need. And hotels in a great location

I recommend this hotel so much! This is probably the most beautiful hotel throughout my whole trip. It had a nice pool, nice staff, and room service was awesome! And it was just seconds away from the beach. If you are looking for a hotel in the Florida Keys or just Islamorada this hotel is the way to go.
Islamorada (“purple island” in Spanish) in the northern Florida Keys is known as the “Sport Fishing Capital of the World.” Theater of the Sea, a popular animal park, allows visitors up, close, and personal experiences with dolphins, sea lions, and stingrays.
