Location was great and staff as well. In fact, everything was excellent. Facilities were nearly perfect. Only issue I had was that the price of food was quite high compared to other restaurants on the island. In fact, it was about twice of comparable restaurants. Location is a bit far from town so you do need to rent a car or taxi everywhere.
The hotel is kind of in the middle of no where. Nothing is in walking distance. You should get a jeep from the nearby car rental place. Depending on your room you can get a terrace with a beautiful view of the mountains. The staff were nice. But the the front desk is only on property from 9-5. After 5 you're on your own. The rooms are fully equipped with a kitchen with plates and utensils.
I like that the hotel provides beach chairs, beach towels and coolers for guests to borrow. I like that they provide continental breakfast in the morning. I like that there are loose horses hanging all around the hotel. You literally will have a horse walk by you without its owner. I liked that the AC was super powerful. I was happy that there weren't many mosquitos in the room.
I disliked that the sheets and shower curtain were stained. I found a dead lizard behind the bed. I could tell that the lizard was dead for a long time. Doesn't seem like the staff thoroughly cleans the rooms.
For the price, I think the hotel in fine. I was hardly at the room because I was constantly going on vieques adventures. (Black beach, horse back riding, W hotel pool etc)
The owners, Maria and Joe go out of their way to make sure experience is the best! Maria made sure we had everything we needed and took care of excursions and transportation! The place is great and walking distance from ferry. I will only stay here for my trips to Vieques!
