We always enjoy staying at the Gailes when we come home to Irvine from Australia to visit our family. It's our quiet "smarter" pampered stay! However after staying at Riverside for part of our stay this trip home we felt The Gailes was looking a little dated in it's main areas. After staying at The Gailes or dining at the Gailes each year for the past 12 years it really does need new carpets in the restaurant/cafe area. A little freshen up would go a long way. This visit we visited the spa, just using the jacuzzi which was lovely but on our second visit the chlorine was at a level higher than it likely should have been and my husband and I suffered burning eyes and couldn't stand to breath in around the jacuzzi area and promptly got our within minutes of arriving (we did mention to staff) the change area for the spa could definitly do with a more thorough clean, I felt grubby whilst in it and was thankful to be able to walk back to our room and shower. Loved our room, bed was comforatble and it was so quiet we were able to sleep well. Only downside is rooms are small, perfect for a weekend get away but not for long distance travellers that have a decent amount of luggage! We would and will stay again but for the bulk of our trip home next time (as we did this time) we will need to stay at another hotel with more room space and have a few nights at The Gailes as an end of trip treat.

Thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback following your recent stay at the Gailes Hotel. It's great to hear that you continue to use us year after year and we're glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. We will take your comments on board regarding the main areas and the spa. Please note that the Gailes is currently in the process of some major refurbishments which will be centred around a brand new spa due opening at the start of 2020. Hopefully when you next visit you will be one of our first guests!
