We have stayed at the Cherry Tree Inn on a previous occasion; not long after they had and were still recovering from a very serious fire in the Kitchen. However, the Regatta room we were given on that occasion more than compensated. It was in a separate outbuilding away from the pub so not only quiet but also roomy and comfortable.
When we arrived this time we were given a warm welcome by Ryan who provided all the information we required before taking us to our room, The Regatta. It was made up with the twin bedded option just as we had requested. One small point to note was that we had requested the avoidance of air fresheners/fragrances but, unfortunately, one plug-in dispenser in the main room had not been removed. Otherwise all was well.
We decided to eat at the inn that evening and were favourably impressed by the variety of the menu on offer. In the morning, a good breakfast set us up for the day and our brief stay helped us to relax and focus before the green burial of a very close friend later in the day.
One thing we should mention is that when trying to find and book accommodation, admittedly at short notice, we discovered that there was not much choice. So it was a relief to find something available that we were already familiar with. The standard and size of the accommodation was more than a match for anything else we could see but more than that, it was noticeably cheaper too.
