Darroch View Cottage is a lovely looking cottage from the outside ,but as soon as you enter you get hit with a strong smell of damp ,we were told there’s nothing that can be done about it as it’s a 200 year old cottage which is fair enough , however by booking online the customer will never get an opportunity to know this had I know I would not have gone we my family, the manger was friendly and helpful but constantly asking us with a time will we be arriving as 7pm was her deadline.

Nice place to stay with family
We stayed as a family of 5 (a 4 year old & two young teens), just as a single overnight enroute further north. More than served our needs and definitely would have liked to stay an extra night (it had already booked up when we tried to extend, which is understandable) and would consider returning. Lovely conservatory and great views! Overall, definitely recommended!

Loved Darroch View Cottage
Darroch View Cottage was a delightful place to stay with lots of character! Two small houses built in the 1850’s converted into one cottage with three bedrooms. Tastefully decorated with all the amenities needed. Lovely conservatorium and a picnic table just outside for fine weather. The host was helpful in introducing us to the cottage, then was totally unobtrusive. We truly enjoyed our stay and would have loved to spend longer at Darroch View self-catering cottage.

Exceptional place very close to a large superb lake with nice views on mountains. One local pub/restaurant with good food and different whiskies to test. The host is very friendly, great food for breakfast and cosy rooms in top-notch condition with decoration and books to read. Highly recommended if you are staying on the isle of Skye for few days. Shops are probably a bit away, but this is for people who want to enjoy the nature.
