We were put in a river view room, which was spacious, comfortable, and quiet. The bonus was having an Nespresso machine in our room! They also had a great continental breakfast. Very walkable to everything in downtown Inverness. We would definitely stay here again on another visit." The room was a good size, quiet and warm. Unfortunately the mattress was very firm and not very comfortable. The bathroom was large but the water pressure and volume of water in the shower was very weak. Breakfast dinning area was very pleasant but the breakfast quality was poor. Staff were all pleasant and helpful. I paid good money for a totally sleepless night and a very basic breakfast. When booking, I specifically asked for a room at the front of the hotel. I do so regularly, as I know from past experience that rooms, particularly the low even numbers can be noisy, so I was disappointed when arrived and was told that I was allocated Room 102\. I told reception that I had bad memories of room 102 as I had stayed there in the past and it is the noisiest room in the hotel; which was why I had requested a room at the front. Reception was very unhelpful, completely unsympathetic and simply said there was nothing they could do. Room 102 lived up to my expectations, with unbearable loud noises from extractor fans and other machinery operating not far from the room window. I couldn't do any work because concentrating was impossible. I am a light sleeper - hence my request which was made when booking - and I couldn't get any sleep because of the constant racket from outside, which went on throughout the entire night. Breakfast next morning was a lacklustre affair. No fruit salad, no fresh fruit, no fried eggs on offer and the other breakfast items were fewer than is usually available and they were very slow to be replenished when they ran down. Check in the night before had been painfully slow and staff on reception were not helpful. I wouldn't want to go through this again and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
