Broken aircon on the hottest days of the year. Lack of basic amenities in the room and get charged 5 euros to borrow a kettle. Cleaners that ignore the do not disturb sign and come in when I am half dressed or on calls and don’t leave straight away. And the rest…

Charm and location
Loved being in a historic building and the location was excellent. Walkable from train station and to everything you need. No elevator if that matters to you. I needed the stairs to work off the croissants!

Close to everything, lots of character, friendly staff, comfortable beds. Tub only. Very clean, we enjoyed our stay. Bike storage available €5 per bike, across the street from the hotel in a locked garage.

The history and the age of the building were very interesting. Honore Balzac studied in the building as a child. Francois was very convivial. Would stay here again Location is excellent! So close to the restaurants and waterfront.

Location was great for being walkable to all sites and restaurants in Old Town Tours. The downside was attributed to the typical French parking problems. The owner, Francois was a charming gentleman.

deally located hotel, comfortable and clean.
A lovely small hotel in an old timbered building in the heart of old town Tours. Comfortable bed, clean, good shower. Breakfast was very good and service was friendly. Ideally located for sightseeing. We had dinner in a great vegan restaurant called Tahina.

Best value for money among wonderful hotel staff.
This small hotel is in a very convenient location , close to the cathedral. It's an historic building where Balzac the writer once stayed . As such, there are narrow stairs to negotiate in this wonderful premises but we managed despite our advanced years. We travel light. During daytime hours anyway someone is on hand to assist. the staff were amazing and helpful in every regard. The walk from the station is flat and doable with a small case and took us between fifteen and twenty minutes. there is a super patisseries nearby and lovely little park to chill out in. during the recent heat wave the hotel had portable air conditioners on hand for guestrooms. Linen and bed comfort were top notch. the value for money is amazing.

The lady at the front desk was awesome -she gave us great advice and information while staying a week in Tours and visiting the Loire Valley Châteaus. The room was small but we were rarely there and had everything needed! It’s Downtown Tours and easily walkable to the train station and old town. Plenty of restaurants nearby - would definitely stay again !

The staffs are very friendly and helpful.
I am very glad to choose this hotel for staying in Tours, the location is great, walking distance to all the tourism's places. Room is clean , staff speaks fluently English which is so helpful.

It was a good experience to stay in Hoteldu Theater. The location is easy to access all the attractions and restaurants. The room has reasonable space for two with a big rest room. The building is in old style (no elevator). However, they added the facilities, such as air conditioning to fit your needs. The staffs are very friendly, helpful and resourceful to help on my heavy luggage, also giving the information of transportation of our next destination.

Perfect!
The location is absolutley perfect for a stay in Tours. 10 minute stroll from the train station (for day trips)and the Plumereau area (for food). Rue Colbert is a minute away for more food choices. Lots of cafes and shops around and of course youre right across the road from the opera house. The Cathédrale Saint-Gatien is five minutes away. The hotel itself is wonderful and Francois is a most gracious host. Throughly recommend it and would definitely stay again

Charming friendly hotel
A wonderfully quaint hotel in the theatre district,close to everything without being in the middle of it all, run by very friendly owners. The facilities are basic but exactly the experience I was looking for.

Balzac y était aussi : )
On était très surpris de savoir que Balzac avait passé ses premiers années de pension dans cet hotel. Il avait vecu dans ce batiment et avait monté ces escaliers ... Petit batiment très ancien, sans ascenseur, mais charmant, propres, calme et très très bien situé au centre ville. Le personnel très sympa et serviables.

À éviter absolument. En plus d’être fortement désagréable et impoli, le responsable a voulu me faire payer des frais s’élevant à une quinzaine d’euros car mon train était arrivé en retard à Tours (à 21h, pas à 2h du matin). Ces frais “d’arrivée tardive” ne sont pourtant ni précisés sur le site ni à l’entrée de l’hôtel. Ce monsieur n’avait même pas pris la peine de m’appeler dans la journée pour me prévenir alors qu’Hotels.com lui avait transmis mes coordonnées. Je devais y dormir plusieurs fois ces prochains jours pour le travail mais je n’y remettrai plus les pieds. À fuir.

Bonjour,effectivement la réception ferme à 20h mais vous n'avez pas pris la peine de vérifier lors de votre réservation ni d'appeler la réception car votre train aurait eu du retard.Sur le mail que vous avez reçu, il est précisé qu'en l'absence de nouvelle pour une arrivée tardive, des frais seraient facturés. Enfin, je ne comprend pas pourquoi vous vous plaignez car votre chambre n'a pas été facturée, alors que nous étions en droit de le faire.Je vous remercie de vos commentairesCordialement,François

Attendez-vous à être sévèrement interpelé par le propriétaire si vous dépassez l'heure de départ : 11h00! Après 2 jours dans son hôtel et après avoir payé ma réservation et les petits déjeuners pris sur place. Il n'a pas hésité à me rappeler sur mon portable pour me réclamer de l'argent pour les 30 min de dépassement par principe. Je trouve très peu commerçante une telle attitude et je ne recommanderai pas son établissement qui plus, est à déconseiller pour toute personne à mobilité réduite ou âgée: la réception est au 1er étage sans ascenseur

Vous n'avez pas apprécié que je vous rappelle le règlement de l'hôtel, mais pour ma part je ne n'ai apprécié votre sans-gène, car la moindre des corrections aurait été de demander s'il était possible de rester dans la chambre plus longtemps. Derrière vous il y a des femmes de ménage qui travaille....

Hotel céntrico
Pequeño hotel situado en el centro histórico de Tours. Se accede a las habitaciones a través de unas escaleras muy estrechas y pendientes que es algo a tener en cuenta en caso de llevar maletas grandes o de tener problemas de movilidad. La habitación triple ( n°24) tiene un tamaño adecuado, el colchón es cómodo, no se oye ruido de otras habitaciones aunque algún dia se oyó gente volviendo de fiesta por la calle...la habitación está enmoquetada, el baño es muy amplio con bañera pero no tiene mampara ni cortina. El desayuno correcto.

Le séjour a été convenable, accueil moyen, ou on vous demande de payer immédiatement, et le lendemain quand vous partez on vous interpelle pour vous demander de payer à nouveau, il faut présenter la facture de la veille pour ne pas être pris pour un voleur ... Prestation bien moins bonne que lors de la période COVID avec couvre feux.

La taille de ma chambre etait trop petite. L'évacuation de la clim sortait par la fenetre du toit qui devait rester entrouverte. Les lits ne sont pas fait en journée. Cependant j'ai été bien accueilli

Nous vous remercions pour vos remarques. Vous avez effectivement réservé une chambre catégorie ECONOMIQUE, celle-ci mesure 10m2. Si vous souhaitiez une chambre plus spacieuse nous aurions peut-être pu vous proposer une autre chambre. Comme vous le savez, l'hôtel est du XVII siècle et les chambres ne sont pas climatisées. Pour pallier les piques de chaleur de ces derniers jours, nous avons équipé les chambres de climatiseur mobile. Si celui-ci vous a gêné, il fallait le signaler et nous l'aurions retiré. Nous espérons néanmoins que vous avez passé un agréable séjour à Tours

Bon emplacement pour cet hôtel. Il faut anticiper de se garer au parking sous terrain le plus proche, sinon dans la rue à partir de 19h c’est gratuit. Bon petit déjeuner, bonne propreté, et qualité de matelas correcte.

Des escaliers très raides et inaccessibles pour personnes ayant quelques difficultés de mobilité...grand escalier pour atteindre l’accueil et pas d’ascenseur pour atteindre les chambres. Accueil sobre : nous étions un couple et nous n’avions pas vu que la réservation chambre double ne mentionnait qu’un adulte sur la réservation. Un supplément de 4 euros nous a été demandé. L.hotel étant quasi vide...cette demande était peu commerciale... Chambre confort à 82 euros sous les toits, petite douche avec rideau en plastique.. El acceso a la recepción y las habitaciones es horrible, por una escalera muy estrecha que apenas puedes subir con las maletas, porque no hay ascensor. y la habitación es super pequeña.
