The hotel is a beautiful and characterful period property. We had a fantastic view of the walls, the beach and one of the islands and we enjoyed watching the scene changing during the day.

Sea view room was excellent overlooking the ramparts and the island fortress. Hotel had excellent restaurant and patio. Location great for accessing the rampart walk.

There is nothing like staying intramurs in Saint Malo. Staff was very friendly, rooms were spacious, super clean and comfortable. This is a historical hotel, so it keeps some of its old charm, but it does not mean that it does not have modern comforts. Bathrooms were recently renovated and the location and easy access to paid parking were unbeatable. We would definitely come back.

This hotel embodies the history and spirit of St Malo. It transported us back in time. We had a view of the ramparts and the sea, and we were so glad we reserved a room with a sea view. All the hotel staff were gracious and welcoming.

Centrally located hotel in the heart of things in old town St. Malo. Good and substantial breakfast. Room were somewhat dated and the bedding had holes in it.

Situation unique as it was in the old town and there is an incredibly and accessible beach right there metres away outside the wall. Close to transportation options, restaurants, many shops and the tourist bureau.

We decided not to stay. We requested a car parking space but had no idea that we needed to negotiate such a stressful route on the inside of the walls to get to the space if we had known this we would not have booked. We drove around and around amid people with young children, dogs and elderly with walking sticks walking in front and around us. Not surprisingly we lost the route. I rang the hotel to say I was cancelling and would look for another hotel for the night. I’d like to think I will get some recompense.

Incredible location
Fabulous location inside the walls but also on top of one of the best beaches we’ve ever been to. Parking also good here as you can park next to the hotel or just outside the walls which is a stones throw from the hotel. Room was very nice, we had an amazing 4th floor sea view. Lighting in the room could have been better. We didn’t eat here however we did have some average cocktails. Shame the bar staff were so rude.

Stunning location within the ramparts, but really difficult to get to it through the labyrinth of streets and one-ways. Hotel should provide directions. Best view ever from our room right over the sea. Comfortable and lovely. Front desk a little understaffed. Recommended

Elevator didn't work most of the time, we were in the 4th floor so this was a little bad for my parents. The stairs need to be repair, very dangerous stairs. Breakfast was very limited but staff was very nice and rooms very clean. Transportation was easy but the area was not very pretty.

St Malo overnight
Lovely old hotel right in the heart of old St Malo, full of character and history. Once past the reception area the hotel is looking a little tired, in need of a refresh, and the room needed re-decorating but this didn't distract from our stay and we would definitely book again if staying in St Malo. Plenty of restaurants outside and right next to the ferry port.

Mis advice about private parking . Not informed about event which meant public parking was limited . No bath plug for bath. Room is well appointed and shower powerful and hot, will not be using this hotel again due to the access problems with cars.

The location is amazing! It is a bit tricky to drive there due to restrictions during the day, but definitely worth it. The restaurant in the 5th floor was definitely great and would recommend, the view from there is 360 on the sea :) the food was delicious and service top notch. The ground level cafe/restaurant was pretty good too with quality food and good service. My only piece of feedback would be that some things were a bit tired such as carpet in the room, wallpaper and bathtub holding bar for example. The hotel itself is lovely and service was really good. Important note, if you are planning on using the hotel parking facilities, i recommend you contact them ahead of time to ensure you have a spot as it is located in their sister hotel down the road and only fits about 5 cars. We were lucky enough that our car was small (Toyota Yaris) and they were able to fit us in!

Elegant hotel, characterful and great location
The hotel is beautiful and historic, excellently located in St Malo near all bars, restaurants, shops, very lively street culture. The lobby and public areas were very grand and well designed with a ‘living’ wall, felt like a boutique hotel, a mix of traditional and contemporary. There is no hotel parking so the description on Hotels.com is confusing as suggested this would be available. It’s incredibly difficult as a foreigner to drive around this area of St Malo, the streets are tiny and heavy with pedestrians, it was quite stressful and confusing following signs to the hotel - we ended up going down a ‘no car’ street to find the hotel who explained the fact there was no parking. We eventually parked at the QPark, a 5 min walk away by purchasing an online 48hr ticket for approx £45. Fortunately we didn’t have many bags. The room was a little faded/dated and spartan in its decor compared to the public areas but very spacious and comfortable for our family of 3, with a nice view of the courtyard. The shower was good (shower door over bath did leak onto the floor a lot). The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner in all honesty, a few random hairs and toilet roll not placed in the holder). However this didn’t affect our enjoyment. We would stay here again a little wiser next time of the parking.

Lovely historic property in the old walled ramparts of St Malo. Don’t try to drive directly to the location; best to park in the large car parks outside the walls and walk into the old part.

A great place to stay in St.Malo
The hotel is very comfortable, and ideally located within the old town walls for travellers coming off the ferry from the UK or the Channel islands. The receptionist was very welcoming (and in English). For exploring St.Malo or the surrounding area it would be a good base.The hotel has no parking of its own but there are plenty of options nearby; we booked in advance (separate business) to use the underground parking that is just three or four minutes walk away. There is a good range of places to eat, whether dinner or breakfast, within walking distance.

We had two problems. The Orbitz listing and even the hotel TV said they offered parking. They did not. At checkin, the area was extremely crowded and it took us over an hour to find a place to park. In addition, the parking would only allow a max of 8 1/2 hours parking, so we had to keep feeding the meter to avoid a ticket, or worse. Issue #2, the Orbits listing plainly says 'air conditioning'. This hotel does not have it. If I'd known either of these issues, I would not have booked this property.

The hotel would have been perfect if they had ventilation figured out. They report they had to disconnect the AC due to Covid, so the only ventilation were the windows over the noisy, brightly lit, and smoky courtyard. We had very rough nights of sleep with eye shades and headphones. Otherwise a perfect location and lovely property! Maybe request a room on the backside of the hotel?

Reception staff great as I needed a disabled parking bay. A bad start in the room as the toilet hadn't been cleaned properly. The room wasn't clean. There were cobwebs on the wall behind both of the bedside lamps. Wallpaper stained and lifting at the seams, carpet stained and needed cleaning. Bathroom door needs repairing. One armchair which needed some stuffing in the cushion. One small container of milk for two people. Inadequate. Sheets clean and fresh and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was chaotic. The breakfast room was almost full and other diners were across a corridor. A table was found for us but no guidance in what was available or where it was. People pushing past chairs bumping you whilst eating , not a pleasant experience

A tired look!
Very helpful at Reception. Changed our room so it had a bath ( had severe backache) However, the bath only had a hand held shower for my husband. There was a huge tear in the duvet which had been repaired rather badly and was on view which was a little disappointing to see. Otherwise all was fine.
