"We thought we’d treat ourselves to a one night luxury stay which turned out to be quite the opposite as the electricity went off: no lights, shower, toilet flush, couldn’t shave, dry hair, have clothes ironed or get a hot meal in the restaurant. The manager said ‘it happens’ - if it happens why wasn’t there a contingency plan? A beautiful hotel but poor customer relations. No explanations, no information, no compensation, not even the offer of a glass of wine to help get through the night. To add insult to injury they booked us a restaurant in the town which, when we got there, was closed - we had to laugh! Definitely a “memorable experience” as it says in the hotel information. "
