I was hasty with my first review having mentioned that the rooms were small, dated and dirty. This still stands, however, when going down to breakfast, we were made to feel guilty and unwelcome. We woke up late, and got down to breakfast at 9:45 (breakfast is served until 10) and the staff were already packing up. We apologised and asked if breakfast was still being served (at this point we offered not to put them out if it was too late) and they said it wasn’t a problem and offered us a seat. It wasn’t until the waitress brought out our cooked breakfast that she felt obliged to mention that breakfast was served between 8:30 - 10 - it was the way in which she felt she had to word it that made us feel most guilty, again, we already offered not to put them out and would have happily gone elsewhere had this been the case. My partner felt really guilty and unwelcome that we couldn’t have eaten and left any quicker.
Don’t get me wrong, the rest of the staff; checking in, checking out etc were polite and everything you could expect from a hotel but this really lowered our perception of the hotel.
