"A boutique hotel : ideal retreat after the Falls"
Although Boutique de la Fonte is in Puerto Iguazu, it is in a quiet part of town, uncluttered by other hotels and shops. One gets little impression of the interesting hotel within from the road, but on entry, the courtyard, pool and rooms combine to produce a delightful, cosy atmosphere. Our room was spacious (not all are from our observation), bathroom perfectly adequate, AC worked and verandah charming. Guests should, however, be aware of the dining arrangements. Breakfasts are continental style, ie no cooked meal. Lunch is not really considered though, as a gesture on the first day, we did get a toasted sandwich. But for dinner, the seemingly defunct dining-room comes to life with a superb gourmet meal (and therefore, not unexpectedly, quite pricey). We would thoroughly recommend the dinner we did have, but be warned that the restaurant caters for the adventurous eater, with a reasonably deep pocket. Dinner elsewhere is easy - 10 minutes walk - with a good range of restaurants to choose from. In general, we fully recommend this small, friendly hotel.
