"Simple, clean apartment with amenities and views!"
I enjoyed my stay on the upper floor of this apartment building for two nights in July 2015. The apartment, located in a quiet neighborhood, was clean and seemingly brand new, with a modern shower/bath and kitchen appliances. It was located just a few minutes walk from a local supermarket and 20 meters from a bakery. The walk to the main Hvar Town harbor was a direct and easy 7 minutes downhill (a little more uphill). I didn't take much advantage of the ample balcony (facing the street) with new patio furniture, but did often enjoy the views of the beautiful ocean and waterfront from the bedroom and the walkway leading to the balcony just outside the bedroom. Despite the short notice, my host/owner, Dara, was timely to shuttle me across town to meet a friend as my stay ended, and was very friendly.
I stayed here with 4 friends and rented the top floor apartment (I think Skyview). The place is more than what we expected - clean amenities, close to the beach, great view of the town from the balcony and a very nice owner (Dino). The place can accomodate 5 people comfortably - he converted the living room into a bedroom - the mattress in the living room is a bit hard but it didn't bother me - we still enjoyed our stay. The owner was very helpful - he picked us up from the dock and he also let us borrow his cellphone when our telephone did not work. That to me is great customer service. I highly recommend this place.
Picked up by Teo at the port and he ran up through all about the island. Lovely guy always up for helping. Room was lovely - clean and comfortable with good kitchen and bathroom, good location, a few minutes walk from town center.

This hotel was in a lovely area with beautiful views and scenery. There was a ferry boat into Stari grad if you didn't want to walk and the nearby beach was clean, quiet and the water a lovely blue. Breakfast was easy, and there was a bar where you could have speciality cakes and ice creams. The service was good & efficient. If you want a chilled out holiday then this is the place for you .
It would be a mistake to judge this hotel against the usual US, Australian or British standard. Sure there were things it lacked like a pool or gym or tea and coffee making facilities, but it got all the basics right and it had one overwhelming advantage in the staff. They were genuinely helpful and knowledgable and nothing was too much trouble. Over our stay we got to know some of them quite well and the stay began to feel more like a home stay than a hotel experience. You won't get that at your typical "big" hotel. The "breakfast girl" (sorry I can't remember her name) was a joy, and Sanja and the front office crew were uniformly excellent.
We arrived on a late ferry from Split. It was hard to navigate at 10:30 in the evening. I had hoped there was a transfer at the dock waiting however there was no van pick up. We took a taxi that charges100 kuna. We enjoyed our visit and the hotel arranged for our transfer back to the ferry with no problems. If you arrive late, be prepared for no transportation.
This 68-kilometre long island lies a two-hour ferry ride from the mainland port of Split. Very popular with the yachting crowd, it’s known for its lavender fields, vineyards and old Venetian-style stone buildings. Hvar Town is home to a 16th-century cathedral, a hilltop castle, and a marble paved piazza ringed with trendy cocktail bars and seafood eateries. Several of the nearby Pakleni Islets (accessible by taxi-boat) are devoted to nudism.
