Hotels in Hurghada
Hurghada is a dream destination on the Red Sea coast, which offers great weather all year round, exciting excursions off the coast and amazing diving opportunities. The city's many hotels stretch over two miles along the seafront and provide guests with easy access to the beach. In Hurghada you will find accommodation to suit all tastes; whether you want to stay in a budget hotel or enjoy the life of a luxury hotel you’ll find it here.
Where the sun always shines
Until the 1980s, Hurghada was a small fishing village, then the tourism industry transformed the little village into a bustling city with almost 250,000 inhabitants and over 100 hotels. Even today, Hurghada is continuing to grow along the coast, and construction sites are no unusual sight. The city has two major advantages that make it a magnet for tourists; the first is the almost guaranteed nice weather - here it only rains five days a year and the temperature varies from pleasant to hot; the other is the Red Sea with its warm waters and amazing coral reefs. Hurghada is simply perfect for a holiday of sun, sea and sand.
The best way to experience all the colourful fish and beautiful corals in Hurghada waters is with an air tank and fins. Snorkeling is definitely easier than diving, but if you have never tried diving with full equipment, this is just the right time. Hurghada is packed full of diving centres and the vast majority of hotels have their own diving specialists. Prices are also comparatively low. No matter how you choose to explore under the water, consider taking a waterproof camera. It's incredibly entertaining to try to capture all the exciting inhabitants of the sea on the picture.
Activities and attractions
If you're tired of life on the beach there are many other activities in and around Hurghada to keep you entertained. If sport is your thing then get onto the golf and tennis - there are even golf hotels with their own courses. Get in to the city centre of Hurghada to enjoy some shopping, but do not forget to haggle - it's an important part of the experience. While you're there, you'll also be able to visit the city's oldest area, El Dahar, with its narrow alleys and lively bazaars. Also check out Hurghada's stately mosque and admire its beautiful architecture.
Most Hugharda tourists stay in all-inclusive hotels meaning they can get all the food they want without even leaving the hotel. If you are more adventurous, there are plenty of good restaurants in the city. You can follow up the dinner with a wonderful night on the town around the many bars at the marina.
Feel the wings of history
Finally, it is worth thinking that Hugharda is only four to five hours traveling from Luxor's amazing ruins. Take the trip out there and you will be rewarded a thousand times over with an incredible journey back in time.
