Had a lovely week at the ALDAU and was blown away by home huge it is. The pool is an absolute beast! A great family spot with lots to do and great service and staff. The food wasn't especially amazing unless you were able to score a reservation to one of the restaurants on site, which was nearly impossible to do, and you could only go once if you could. The buffet was also huge and I suspect the size of it had an impact on the quality of food at times. There was a lot of construction that was happening in the older rooms which made it very loud and noisy in the latter part of the day when you were trying to sit on the deck and relax. The location to the Red Sea was excellent, but the snorkeling trips were very short for the $$. I would definitely go back again, but if just with a couple of people, I would probably chose a smaller resort in the end. AS I found in all of Egypt however, the people and staff were some of the most polite and friendliest that I have met in all of my travels!

Not a pleasant check-in experience
I arrived in Hurghada a day earlier than planned. I was not able to modify my reservation to arrive a day early and per the Hotels.com virtual assistant, I was instructed to make a 1 day reservation. I did just that and had my original reservation for 3 days pulled up so I could book the same room so I wouldn't have to move after 1 night. I arrived at the hotel after 10 pm. I checked in and was told that I would have the same room for my entire stay. I was taken to my room. It was nothing at all like I booked and paid for. I went back to the front desk and the guy working started to tell me that for my 1st night that I did not book the better room. Either he just made that up on the spot or he was being very dishonest by putting me into a lower level room at my original chek in. Keep in mind that the amount that I paid for my extra 1st night was higher than the next 3 and on the hotels website that rate is for the better room. He then tried to tell me that he would upgrade me for the 1st night and I could stay in the better room for my entire stay. I stayed at this hotel a year before and booked the same room and I loved my room and located on my original visit. I tried asking the guy at the front desk if I could have a room close to that original room from the previous year and he just kept talking over me and telling me what I like and how much I was going to like the room I was going to stay in. The room is the same but the location is different from my previous stay.

The staff here are excellent, the grounds swimming pool and beach are really nice and the dining options, particularly the beacfront restaurants are great. Also we did some really good dives with the on site dive centre so overall a great stay!

Hotel facilities are excellent. We went with 2 teenage boys and there was so much to do - diving, wakeboarding, water polo, beach volley ball etc etc but also a lovely lazy river, gym and spa. Large hotel but laid out in a way that means it feels much smaller around the pool which is lovely. Definitely recommend and would go back.

Great place to be. Great food and service. Very nice facility. Pool is amazing. Beach needs clean up and expansion. Too much rocks. Requested a beach view and got thrown into a building side view inititally. People smoking everywhere. Uncomfortable. Internet is weak in rooms. Foul smell comes off the AC sometimes. I think AC intake is close to a sewer outlet.

We had an amazing family vacation at a hotel that surpassed all expectations. The staff warmly welcomed us, especially Mr. Dawod and Mina, who were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is ideal for families, with fantastic amenities. The pool and beach were impressive, and the aqua park kept our kids entertained. The availability of delicious snacks throughout the day was a delightful touch. The food quality was exceptional, with high standards. Samuel Reda provided cheerful and attentive service at breakfast, and Hanan Gamal ensured guests were well taken care of. Emad Elbadry at the pool bar went above and beyond to assist us, and Mohamed Awny at the Karibu bar was polite and hardworking. The entire staff was exceptional, creating a memorable and relaxing experience. We are grateful for their dedication. We can't wait to return, as this hotel excelled in all aspects, making it the perfect destination for our future family vacations.

Dear Steigenberger Management, Thanks for your reply and showing concern and care to our problem at check in. The Hotel resolved the issue immediately. Thanks to Daoud who called and helped out with everything - the hotel granted us with room upgrade and late checkout as well. Honestly the Hotel is perfect in every aspect. The Hotel cares for the guests and wants to make returning guests, this shows why it earned the reputation they for being the best in Hurghada. Staff is great, food is good and the amenities are amazing for family and kids. 2 nights are not enough, minimum you need 4 to 5 nights to make full use of this huge facility. Thank you again

A dying star !
Once was the flagship hotel of Hurghada, Steigenberger’s quality of hospitality and service was superb, but everything has declined into a 4 star level. Although still one of the most expensive hotels but staff there are not so friendly, starting from reception (except Mr Omar , he is the best) . We spent so much time to get our room and when I asked for late check out they told me I have to pay 10 euros (although I am hotels.com gold member) , I had to pay extra money for my children. At the room Wifi is not regular and only for 2 devices!! . Food level is mediocre, very late service of waiters. It was Eid vacation and the hotel was packed but I think this is not an excuse for mediocre service.

Everything was just amazing.The beach, the pool, the guys of the lobby bar are more than amazing. The chefs beyond the food are excellent. The only thing that I didn't like is through the 5 days we stayed, our room was done only once! We leave the room at 7 am and return back by 4 pm and the guy of the room service does not show up through this period

I was offered an upgrade more than halfway through my stay, not worth moving everything. Almost every single morning we could hear furniture being moved around on the floor above us, very loud, woke me up every morning, front desk told me to call housing keeping when that happens, No!, I don’t work for the hotel, they need to call. The staff was amazing and pleasant at all hours of the day and night. The spa employees need to be spoken with by management. First day at the beach the spa people attack you for sales and try signing you up for everything, No means No but they do not leave and keep pushing. They pray on peoples insecurities and try to sell you treatments, that needs to change. Lastly, I love tea, not a single decaffeinated black or English breakfast tea. This was my 2nd stay here, maybe my last.

We would like to inform you that we are heating our pools during the winter season, due to the fact that overall weather temperature 30+ there is no need to heat the pools in summer time. On the whole the hotel was wonderful and we had a very good time there. The staff were very nice and helpful, the outdoor facilities were good and easy to use. The place was beautiful. But there were some areas to improve: first, the hotel didn't mention any room upgrade option to me, so I just had the room I booked. Second, the staff forgot to leave me new towels after cleaning, which meant I had to share the same used and the only towel I had in the room with my son before I called them to send some clean ones. Third, there was no way to successfully book seats for dinner in most of the restaurants, even if two days in advance.
