The hotel grounds are beautiful, immaculately kept. House keeping is great, left our room spotless everytime, Reception staff are good however most questions or asks were met with a flat no for us 😬 Room was nice, spacious and clean with a bunk for the kids and balcony. My biggest gripe with the room was the mission it was to get anywhere - three flights of stairs (no lifts) and a long walk from the main area restaurants and everything else. I wish we had asked to move rooms but we felt embarrassed to ask and also scared after receiving flat nos for other requests 😬 Pools - are nice however the biggest downside of our trip - not heated as they claim! The pool with the slides is slightly warmer than the pool right next to it however still so cold which was not fun for the kids. Really difficult to get an a la carte restaurant booking and unsure when they open for bookings but seemed to be full everytime we tried. Buffet restaurant good selection of food. Animation team are great and beach is lovely. Service for drinks at pools and restaurants is hit and miss

The hotel itself was lovely and the food was great. The best entertainment I have seen on the beach which was provided by the team. Lovely baby sitting staff ( I had a lovely lady called Vika) The only issue I had which ruined my trip is the currency issues. Please make sure you have Euros/GBP and exchange prior to entering the country. I bought GBP cash and made the mistake of exchanging into dollars at the hotel. They give you larger bills (💵 100) but then struggle to accept them back as payment unless they are in prestige condition as the bank wont accept them. They have a machine to provide you with Egyptian dollars only but hardly any places accept Egyptian dollars within the resort- only the market places but they put up a fight. The prices within the resort for any pharmacy related products or toys are a total rip off. (More expensive than NYC- which surprised me!)

February half term break that exceeded expectations, staff were amazing, attentive and could not do enough. The hotel was very clean and plenty of space to relax we particularly liked the dividers between sun Ed areas adding to privacy.

Amazing beautiful resort with superb staff
The only negative I would say is about the alcohol, although plenty of it, you're not getting proper cocktails it is all syrup based and no matter what you order from a beer, wine G&T, cocktail, it is all served in the same plastic cup/glass so think this could be improved on, other than that amazing place.

We walked two times with my wife all the beaches of Makadi bay. Everytime we were so happy to come back to our beach and realised that it has the best beach. No wind, nice coral reefs, sunbeds and umbrella. Overall very good hotel.

Staff at the reception are very helpful and responsive. Mohamed and Moataz at the reception are amazing. What I didn’t like; 1- food either contaminated or is not kept in a good refrigeration especially with recurrent power outage as most of us got sick from it, my son vomited/ had diarrhea on the last day, my mom had diarrhea from day 1, myself had diarrhea on the last day. 2- Water park was ok , however, it is very slippery around the pool and on the stairs to climb the slides, operating hours is so limited to 10:00 am - 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Life guards shall be more attentive to slide riders as there are occasions where 2 people go on same slide which is prohibited or going back to back which increase risk of injuries. DJ was not working for the first 3 days around water park and pool attached to it, 3- employees at the main restaurant feel entitled to tips, initially they were bringing drinks, picking up empty plates then on the second day they didn’t care much, no one care about your presence if you don’t tip them and if you ask for anything, they make you feel uncomfortable by their attitude/ non verbal communication, Unfortunately i don’t think I gonna come back again to this resort,

Incredible vacation We had an amazing vacation. This is a great resort with great service and amazing people! We relaxed in a beautiful suite. We swam in beautiful pools. We laughed and played with our kids. We are definitely planning to return! Beautiful grounds and all around a great resort. Service was very friendly and fun. Food was super super amazing, the best at the resort, but on top of that our server, Hassan, made the experience 10x better. We will never forget chef Bahaa & Mr. Boules for there great services, they took our vacation to a higher level. Special thanks for Mr. Omr in the front desk, he made everything super easy for us since we entered the resort, and Mr. Mahmoud from financial for his great customer serves. The resort is good for kids, has it's own beach and activities for kids and parents. the staff at the hotel is not focused on serving the guest, they're more interested in where a particular guest it from rather than doing what's asked of them. Any interaction with the staff or a quick request will result in having to wait for a long time (for something that should be done in minutes will be delayed due to the constant irrelevant questioning from the hotel staff). I spoke to the manager about this an all he did was offer an upgrade, however they do need to train their staff to focus on fufilling the request of the guest rather than question the guest about where they're from, what they do (unnecessary small talk that, all guests are trying to get away from in an resort; we're trying to relax not get interrogated) if i wanted people to question me about my life, i'd show up to a family thanksgiving dinner.

Food variety was great, and staff were very courteous. Room was old, only rooms far from the beach available as the buildings near the beach were under renovation. Cleanliness of the room on the first day was not good as well as plumbing. ACs in restaurants were not good. Overall not a 5 stars hotel in-terms of facilities. Alcoholic cocktails are very poor .

The waterpark has limited hours; it is only open from 10:00 a.m. - noon. then 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. The staff needs to be retrained with customer service, during our three days stay only three employees were friendly and welcoming (Ami and the Chef at the Chimichurri). Also, the bartender at the Splash Bar). We arrived after 3:00 p.m. and our rooms weren't ready.

Our third visit and unfortunately our last. The staff in the food hall and restaurants were bordering on rude. They clearly did not want to be there and defo item did not want to serve. We have always had kind, fun, polite staff when here before but that was not the case this time. What a shame as it spoiled all the hard work of the animation team and lifeguards who were wonderful as always. The hotel itself has everything you could need and a lovely beach. If you call a car be aware that the gate staff will not let them through and you will be forced to meet them at the main gate. There seems to be no reason that they won’t allow ubers or taxis through except that they want you to use their limousine service. The staff in reception were of no help at all and at times rude when you asked questions. We arranged to keep our room with one staff member until 2pm only to be locked out at 12noon and when querying it, told the person didn’t have the authority to sort it out. How would we have known that. It took so long to sort out with our luggage in the locked room that we nearly missed our flight. We happily said we would pay extra but they just refused entry after 12 noon even though I had my family stood in reception in our swimwear and had a flight to catch. It was an awful service. We’re so disappointed. We’ve already booked our next holiday to hurghada with White Beach where we’ve never encountered these problems. The staff really do make the holiday.

We had a great one week vacation at the Sunrise Royal Makadi in late March, 2021. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were spacious. The food was good – the specialty restaurants were superb. There are a lot of free activities – Yoga (Lauren was great!), Zumba, Volleyball, the night entertainment (great DJ and sound system). I got one of the best massages in their spa from a woman (Rosa?). We rented Jet Skis and Ahmed took great photos. I bought some great lotion from Zideh at Secret of the Desert. Overall – this was a GREAT vacation. I highly recommend and will be back.

The property was very clean & food was good especially at the main restaurant. We were disappointed with the activities. The list of activities are misleading as on the beach, there are no kayaks, sail boats, or anything of the sort that is free of cost or even owned by the resort. They are all run by third party people. The staff at the spa are extremely pushy and bothersome when it comes to booking treatments and they are not very good at massages or mani/pedis. Activities such as archery, golf etc was never accessible because no one was there to give you the clubs/balls/arrows/bows when you wanted to participate. Billiards was also not free with cost of €3 per hour. Only 2 a la carte restaurants were open on the resort and The little entertainment show they had (also not very good) ends at 10:30pm with bars closing at midnight. Alcoholic drinks also sucked.
