Unfortunately the hotel was leaking due to bad weather. During the night the ceiling in our room started to leak onto the bed and the roof sounded like it was damaged during the storm. We mentioned it in the morning but got a dismissive reply . Also we paid for a superior room and believe we got a normal room as in the photos on the website ( we passed superior rooms that were open being cleaned as we left that morning). As it was late when we arrived we didn't question it because we just wanted to get to bed for an early start. We won't be staying again unfortunately

Disappointing
As compared with other hotels including budget hotels the size of this twin room was extremely small. The condition of the bathroom was tired not fresh or inviting. The coffee cups where not clean. Plastic cups were used could choose a compost able cup. Bed moved easily but was comfortable and warm.

Comfortable but tired
The hotel was a welcome refuge from the Yorkshire Moors' storms, but needs a spruce up. It is well-appointed in the whole, but is showing its age. Our bedroom (31) was clean, but the bathroom left a great deal to be desired. There was a space for a blind, but NO BLIND! - the window overlooked the car park. There was mould in both corners of the bath surround and in the tile grout on the main wall. Also, the top of the bath panel's wooden base was broken off and I caught my toe on the protruding bits - I am diabetic and already have foot problems. That could have been disastrous. The woodwork throughout the hotel needs just one or two people to go round with tins of stain and paintbrushes, to freshen it all up - would not take long at all. On a positive note, the staff were excellent (Especially Matthew in the bar), and the food was TRULY SUPERB!
