"I wish I could give a better overall review of the property, for it has great potential! If it weren't for the inability to check in, I'd rate it even higher. Though I believe in giving fair and honest reviews, without just complaining.The Good: The property outside is lovely and is right on the lake! Couldn't ask for a better location. They allow pets which is also great!I had been in communication on VRBO several times leading up to the stay with general questions. I'd talked to them 2 days before arrival. Then I'd even let them know that I was 20min out before arriving, just so we could avoid any issues and infer about the check in process. Received no reply.The Bad: Got to the property at 6:15pm (over 2hrs past check-in) and there was no one there to check me in. I called the contact that was given on VRBO and it was not the host, but a neighbor who helps with the property. She walked over and showed me to my room which had not yet been cleaned from the last person who had stayed. She then went and found the host by the water for me. I was offered another option, but when he opened that room, it was already (unknowingly) occupied . He asked if I could come back in less than an hour and he'd clean it. At first, standing in the dirty room with the smell of mildew, I was apprehensive, though said yes.Having already traveled 4 hours with my wife, young daughter, and old dog...we came back an hour later to check in at 7:15pm. We stayed our 4 nights and I give 4 stars."

"Summer vacation with two families. 9 total people. Plenty of room for all of us to spread out. Big yard was great for activities. Lake is beautiful and we spent lots of the time on the dock and swimming. Only recommendation for improvement is some drapes or blinds for the bedroom widows. The sun comes up very early in Northern Michigan . Would gladly stay again."

" 5/5 StarsWe had a fantastic stay and would absolutely recommend this place. My family has been coming to Hubbard Lake for over 35 years, and this is one of the nicest homes we’ve ever stayed in. It was incredibly clean, updated, and you could tell the owners really take pride in the property.The one-level layout was a huge plus for us since my mother is disabled. Having a bedroom with its own private bathroom made her stay so much easier. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, and I have to mention the refrigerator and freezer—they were so nice they made me want to replace ours at home! The beds were very comfortable, the washer and dryer looked brand new, and the central air kept the house nice and cool all week.The best part of the house was how clean it was and the view of the lake from the living room. The location was great too. We had family staying nearby on Birch Street, and Churchill Pointe was just a couple of minutes away for a nice dinner.Derek was a wonderful host. He was very courteous and quick to respond. We’d definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable place on Hubbard Lake."

"4 ladies spent a great week at cabin 2. This cabin is near the water, which was beautiful, crystal clear and clean. The bottom was sand and not mucky. They had a floating dock we were able to use which we did spending the whole day on it. The cabin was clean and comfortable. John the host was outstanding and helpful. I highly recommend this place."
