The room was dirty and had roaches. One of the two elevators was broken and the one that “worked” was slow, screeched, hopped and felt so unsafe. Even though I paid in full online, I was charged an additional security deposit that I was not told about when I booked the room. When I checked out in the morning and asked for the paperwork on the deposit I was handed a receipt that said nothing about the deposit and the staff could not explain the paperwork to me. I would never stay there again. Just so bad.

Area around the property is sketchy. Guests loiter in the parking lot smoking weed before coming in so the hallways, elevator, and pretty much everything in the building smells like a skunk. Our room had black mold growing behind the toilet. The entire room was dingy, dirty, and old looking. The staff tries, but how much carpet deodorizer can you use on old and dingy things? The funk didn’t hinder our neighbor’s “activities” for a full hour from 10:30-11:30 pm though. The breakfast was fresh made waffles which were actually decent, but the rest was very meh. Some bread, some bagels, a few types of cereal and hard boiled eggs and that was it. Oh, and milk, apple juice, and orange “drink” in a carafe. Better than starving, I guess!

Room furniture 301: • Both end tables on each side of the bad stayed open all the time. They would not close. • The heater was off the rails and I could see past the wall straight down to the parking lot. I didn’t like feeling like there was a hole in the wall. • One of the two elevators was broken. The other was very scarry and I will not ride it again. • This afforded me the opportunity to use the stairs to the third floor. :( The stair well had windows to the outside missed…another chance to see the cold parking lot below.  • I was disappointed at the bfast on the first night. But I did manage to find boiled eggs and cereal. The second morning, however, had no eggs or milk. The guy at the desk said the bfast lady was late (over an hour) and he can’t find the eggs, but could get me some milk. The apple juice craft was empty. It just looked pitifully. The oriental lady who checked me in was nice and thorough. That is the only nice thing I have to say about this place. Before Covid, I came here every year. I will not go back. I’ll just have to drive further.

Staff was very helpful, that was only thing. The main reason I picked Wingate by Wyndham was how nice and big the rooms are and breakfast. 1st room TV didn't work. After try to fix, they moved me to another room. Burns on carpet, rust in shower and touch up paint instead of painting. On waffle not protein. 1 step above a motel. And woke up with bumps on neck, from sleeping in bed.

First the elevator was broken and we had to climb stairs. Second thing you couldn’t bring extra breakfast to the room. Third thing got the bottom floor , but there was roaches and toilet flies in the bathroom, very disappointed.

My experience was terrible. Both of our rooms upon arrival had a very nasty smell. The bed had dust mites in the sheets due to the humidity levels. in one of our rooms, there was blood stain on the floor and the sheets appeared unclean. in our other room, it looked like the coffee machine had previously caught on fire as there were a smoke mark in the mirror, as well as a bird mark on the countertop and on the floor. There were holes in the walls. Only one of the elevators was working. When me and my family got inside, the elevator shook as it was moving up to our floor. Asked for a refund. The staff informed me that I had already been checked in for an hour and hung up on me.

I came from California for a wedding so I did not know the area , this was the worst Hotel I have ever stayed in . When I first checked in Sheriff’s were there that should’ve been my first sign to find another hotel. Only one elevator was working that one was dirty every time I would use it once there was cereal all over the floor, the pizza. I saw a few people just sitting in the hallways a couple fighting just a mess. The room , the bathroom floor the tile was broke it felt like you were gonna fall through , the shower/tub was pealing there was a bug in the tub. The hallways had a really bad mildew smell . Find somewhere else to stay don’t stay here

If you’re coming to Houston! DO NOT STAY HERE! I overheard the staff mention that the floor I was staying on hadn’t been addressed that day and boy were they right! As soon as I got off the elevator, it immediately had an overwhelming smell like something died/damp musty odor! This smell was all over the floor! Then when I get into my room the air was so damp that it felt HUMID in the room! I explained this to the front desk clerk and asked for a different room and I was immediately greeted with a horrible attitude and told that no other rooms are available and that the floor recently flooded and if I looked around I would see that they even painted over mold/mildew stains on the walls and ceiling! I ended up not staying and ultimately wasted my money because I did not purchase a refundable room through Expedia! With that, I know for a fact I will never stay at this hotel chain again and I may never use Expedia!

Worst Experience Ever
This was an unfortunate experience. The room was absolutely horrible. It looked like it was being renovated. I has to asked the desk clerk, what was going on, with the room. The mirrors were removed. One was off the wall. The bath tub, looked like it was being replasted. I was scared to even sleep, on ghe room. BUT MY UBER HAD ALREADY LEFT, AND I DIDN'T HAVE THE FU FS AT THE TIME, TO JUST LEAVE!!!

Horrible stay
A/C and TV didn’t work: had to change rooms. Incompetent staff didn’t change computer records: rude staff woke us up at 5:15 because of the mixup- completely unapologetic.
