"Very "Florida Keys" type of place to stay.
The good: Very convenient, super friendly staff, big pool, the overall "Keys" vibe. Rooms were decent and clean. Dive and snorkeling trips daily and a very convenient Shell station next door.
The not so great: Rooms a bit dated and in need of some minor repairs here and there. The Tiki Hut ran out of food for a couple of days so we had to search out other places to eat in the evenings.
Nothing was bad enough for us to not want to go back! Outstanding staff!"
Beautiful 2/2 Waterfront Designer Home for your family vacation
10/10 Excellent
" Nice house, beautifully decorated and clean. Great location for boating. We brought our 24’ boat, total length is 27.5’ with windlass, anchor and motor up. The neighbor is so kind and didn’t mind that our boat was encroaching on his seawall."
"This house was exactly how we like to vacation. The property is cozy with a laid-back easy-living vibe. Perfect place to launch your kayaks, then lounge in the pool afterwards. Great water views with no mangroves to interrupt it.The kitchen was fully stocked with all the dishes, pots/pans, and appliances you could need. Gas grill downstairs. I did try out the pizza oven, but it was just too windy for it to be effective. There are many very good Cuban restaurants nearby. 8 minutes to Big Pine where you’ll find more restaurants, shops, and Winn-Dixie for groceries. 30 miles into Key West if you feel the need to be a tourist.Definitely want to return for another stay if the property (which is for sale) remains on the vacation rental market. We stayed for a month in April and the temperatures were perfect."
"Barnacle Resort Stayed 3 nights at the “Treehouse Private Village” in the Barnacle Resort on Big Pine Key. I really enjoyed my stay, the property is quite nice, and very private. One of the attractions on Big Pine Key is seeing Key deer, which astonishingly wandered around the resort property several times a day. Don’t touch or feed them, very illegal, but you can get quite close, as they are fairly tame.It wasn’t clear when I made my reservation just where the room was on the property, since the pictures mainly showed the larger building. As it turns out, my reservation was for the separate, smaller building next to the main house. The “Treehouse” was completely private, and has its own kitchen and full bath, which I really appreciated. There are three or four available rooms in the main building, along with the common areas for dining, etc. So be sure you have the correct room information when you book your stay. There were a couple of things I had to deal with, like the TV wasn’t plugged in, no power outlets in the kitchen for the coffee machine (ran it off the floor in the main room), but really nothing major. And the host responded quickly to any questions, plus I think there’s folks onsite for anything that might be needed. All in all, I was quite pleased with my experience there. If natural beauty, privacy, and location close to Bahia Honda State Park and Key West are at the top of your list, check this place out."
"This is great property to stay for boat owners. The house is completely remodeled and very comfortable. We had everything we needed. Looking forward to booking another trip!"
Keys To The Kingdom! Private Oceanfront Retreat with Beach and Pool
10/10 Excellent
"We just spent 31 nights in Jan/Feb 2026 celebrating our 48th wedding anniversary. The location was perfect for exploring all the keys. We even drove up to Miami Beach one day and was easy to get back before sunset. The location was great for day trips to Key West, getting there in less than 45 minutes. The house is on a very quiet dead-end road. There is a convenience store within 2 miles and a Winn-Dixie within 5 miles. The bird life and key deer on the beach were amazing. The heated pool was so nice and well maintained. The large washer and dryer were very nice. The Kitchen had everything we needed. The place was relaxing. Greg was very helpful and attentive. We would give this place more than 5 stars if we could."
5 Pirate's - Pool & seawall for boat.<br>This is a pet friendly home. A pet fee and approval of your pet is required.
8/10 Good
"The house is sufficient for 2 couples, 3 in a pinch (with only 2 showers) and 2 (only) moderately sized vehicles. It was clean, kitchen sufficient for cooking. Host responsive. Exterior furniture needs some TLC but nothing that prohibited us from having a nice time. Boat dock ok for 23' boat. Decent high tide launch on the other side of island. Take your own Roku for any tv beyond basic Xfinity cable. Internet not stable some times, may just be what is available on Little Torch"
