5/5 Excellent

A group of 6 of us stayed at this cottage and we have to say it was wonderful. Perfect location, plenty of space, and easy to check-in and out. The garden was also amazing and where we spent most of our time. The host even baked a wonderful lemon cake and delivered fresh bread to us one morning. Thank you so much for the best stay!

4/5 Good

Fantastic location
Overall we had a fantastic stay, it’s in such a good location being walking distance to all the shops, cafes and pubs. There’s so much to do in the area. The house itself was lovely and the large garden was a big hit with the kids. We were a bit skeptical about the parking when we first arrived as the space looked tight and right next to the main road and pharmacy (which is joined to the front of the property), but we had no problems with parking at all during our stay and there was enough room for 2 cars to park. Pippa, the owner, was great. We’d definitely come back, still loads to do!

5/5 Excellent

Wonderful stay already knew Hathersage and surrounding areas
A lovely week and plenty places to eat and see

3/5 Okay

More noise than we expected
Pros Hathersage is a good centre for the peaks Hathersage open air pool is good, but you have to book. The house is warm. The showers are powerful and there is plenty of water. It has a conservatory, but is too small unfortunately for everyone to use at the same time. The dining room is large enough for a party of 8. We stored all 3 racing bikes in the house so secure. Cons House is on main road through Hathersage and the 2 front bedrooms suffer from significant road noise. To be specific, articulated lorries at 0500 every day. The en suite rooms have wooden flooring that creaks terribly. You will wake up your partner if you use the toilet in the middle of the night. The shared bathroom doesn't have a shower so the en suites actually became communal in our case. The garden is overlooked by flats next door (a converted house). This is to the right of the picture taken on the front page advert. The 5 bar gate you see in the same picture is taken from the public footpath at the back of the house. The house is actually above the pharmacy on the main road and you will get noise from the shop during the day. There are only 2 car parking spaces. The town car park is £6/day. A day is defined as 24 hours apart from weekends when it seems to end at 0800. I saw someone getting a ticket at 0800 on Sunday so be warned. There are a couple of spaces on the main road which are free to the right of the house. The car parking spaces aren't marked as private so people using the pharmacy do use them if you aren't parked in them. You'll know this when you come back and try and park in them. None of the bedroom radiators came on and they weren't turned off at the valves. The lights in the twin bedded room at the front didn't work.

5/5 Excellent

Long awaited mini break
Great house, very clean, lots of space, comfy beds, powerful showers and large garden . Fabulous location, good local pubs , great deli, heated open air pool, beautiful walks, Chatsworth House and to top it off sunny weather! What more could we want from a holiday. We would love to stay again . Thanks Pip
