Well placed fpr the station and village centre. Staff were very helpful and cheerful. Food was excellent and well presented. The room was fine, but the hotel corridors a bit dingy. Overall very good value.

Good points and bad points.
This hotel is a little run down. In need of a bit of a spruce up I'd say. That siad the room was large and comfortoble enough just needed updating and the general hotel areas could do with a lick of paint. The food in the pub downstairs was quite good with a decent choice though. Although the service could have been better. Breakfast was excellent as the cooked items were freshly cooked and not from a Buffet.

The hotal is very convenient for the Hook train station. It is a nice hotel but note that there is no elevator at the hotel so upper flore rooms are an issue especially with a large bag to carry

The staff and manager were excellent. There was three in our party and nothing was too much trouble for them. They accommodated all our requirements. They also told us where the best restaurant was for a curry as we fancied some food past 9pm.

We are regular visitors to Hampshire, and the Raven is ideally placed to service our visits. It is a friendly and accommodating place to stay. The room we were given was spacious, the bed huge and comfortable. We enjoyed a meal with friends in house before an evening concert just across the road. Ample free parking, and conveniently adjacent to Hook station. Will we stay here again? Yes of course we will!

Lovely clean and comfy room. Good food in the restaurant. Only 2 minor grumbles: cold water in the room not cold. Ugh! when cleaning teeth or needing a drink. Also, could hear snoring and talking from next door room, so not very sound proof. But this is my 2nd stay and I would definitely return.

Not a great Greene king hotel
In need of modernisation, the bathroom sealant all needed changing, the doors to the room are in a bad state of repair as is some of the decor. The security to the hotel and the hotel room leave alot to be desired and quite worrying, we came back at about 22.30, you could walk straight into the reception, up the stairs to the hotel rooms where the only protection the room had was a flimsy lock that anyone could get into, so I feel your belongings and personal safety are at risk. To be fair, it looks like a hotel that's used for workers throughout the week. The walls were paper thin, you can hear everything from the room next door and somebody must have had dogs cause we heard alot of howling. It's just a grubby hotel, I wouldn't go back there, the only plus side is you are a thirty second walk to the train station and there's an amazing Indian restaurant across the road. The pub attached to this hotel, wasn't great either.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The rooms could do with a bit of an update but there is nothing actually wrong with them. The staff were very helpful. There was a good choice for Breakfast and the options were reasonably priced. On the whole the Raven provided excellent value for money.

Restful Stop
It was my first visit and only stayed one night. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and tidy. I had a good night's sleep. I would stop here again.

Check in was smooth, the hotel is set over many levels and stairs. It is sometime a long trek to car park from room. The road outside was undergoing night time resurfacing 8pm to 6am. NO SLEEP. If informed on check in would have requested quieter room but spent the night listening to road works. Not a happy time.

Nice friendly place to stay
i was working as a photographer at reading festival and stayed at the raven hotel over the august bank holiday weekend the hotel is clean and tidy and the management and staff are all very friendly and helpful the breakfast is also very good and has a nice selection of food to choose from,the bar downstairs has a decent range of beers and sometimes has entertainment at the weekends which also pulls in a nice friendly local crowd, i would definitely book this hotel again

Good value stopover
If you want a comfortable room and a good shower for a stop over, this place is good value. Pub downstairs' is nice and there are others walking distance. Also some handy shops and a big Tesco nearby.
