This charming studio with designer touches is comfortable and cozy. Full kitchen with granite counters and cherry wood cabinets and upscale appliances. Completely stocked with dishes, cutlery, pots and pans, linens and towels for your use. The queen-size bed is incredibly comfortable with Egyptian cotton linens. There is a full bath with shower and tub, grab bars, in unit washer & dryer, wifi internet connection, TV and cable, and air conditioning. Enjoy alfresco dining on the lanai. The secure building has a large swimming pool and BBQ area. We also provide beach towels, beach chairs and lite weight cooler. No smoking please.

It's close to the world famous Ala Moana Beach Park and Shopping Center. Just a 10 minute drive to Waikiki or take advantage of our great public transportation system to get you anywhere on the island. The nearest bus stop is a 5 minute walk away. Even if you are here for work, you couldn't ask for a nicer retreat to come home to.
For security reasons we do not provide address until booking. Guests will be contacted with directions and arrangements made for personal greeting for check-in. Our GET/TAT numbers will be provided upon booking.

A strict NO SMOKING policy is enforced by building management. The building is a non smoking property throughout. This includes inside each unit, on the lanais, and the pool area.

Good things come in small packages
Cozy and functional with plenty of amenities that made the stay enjoyable. The kitchen was nicely outfitted with plenty of accoutrements. The toaster over was especially handy. The bathroom had grab bars in the shower which was nice. The bowl sink took up a lot of real estate, but it wasn't too much of an inconvenience. An instant water heater gave a good supply of hot water. Overall, the furnishings were modest but functional. The cushy easy chairs pictured in the ads had been replaced with wicker ones - likely not as comfortable. A small TV was made even smaller by the fact that the picture had a 2" black border. The floor covering intrigued me - it was curled in spots with gaps between some of the tiles. The apartment overlooked Thurston St. which appeared to be a major bus and emergency vehicle route, so traffic noise from that and the visible H1 was ever-present. The louvered wall next to the bed let that sound in as if the window was open. Other than that noise, it was quiet. The light over the kitchen sink did not work and there was no battery in the smoke detector. It was nice having a dedicated parking spot. In summation, a nice place conveniently located to visit O'ahu.

OUTSTANDING check-in process! The hosts are absolutely wonderful. Met us punctually at the property and gave us a very thorough introduction to the unit and surrounding area. They are very reachable and responsive to any information you might need. Unit is very clean, cozy, and exactly as described and photographed. The view from the lanai is stunning. Well maintained building and property. Close to grocery stores, etc. You just can't go wrong with this unit, building, or the hosts. They are wonderful people!

Easy transport
We enjoyed the convenience of public transportation which was available in front of the building (Bus #4) and took us to Waikiki in one direction and downtown (and beyond) in the other. We had a comfortable and productive four month stay on Thurston Avenue.

The studio is comfortable with plenty of light and ventilation. Never heard much more from the others living in the building. Ac works well during the day when you need it but i never needed it in the evening. I enjoyed using the pool on the first floor and having relaxing breakfasts using the well equipped kitchen. With free on site parking steps from the front door, this place is ideally situated for those who want to get around Central east Honolulu... Minutes from downtown, ala moana center or Waikiki, a few blocks to the main freeway h1 going east, a little further drive to get on going west.

A comfortable, affordable Honolulu option.
We come to Honolulu a couple of times per year for two weeks or more each visit. Our children and grand daughter live in Honolulu. So extended stays become expensive in hotels. "Punchbowl Hideaway" has become a comfortable, convenient place for us to return to. We also need an accessible place to stay and the apartment has ground floor parking, an elevator, grab bars on the tub/shower combination and space enough to handle a walker through-out the apartment. Additionally there is a fully equipped kitchen, and a stacked washer and dryer. The area is safe and well maintained, too. We appreciate Vic and Karla's kindnesses. We will stay again!

Great location and amazing view just big enough for two with no worries!
This place was amazing. One of the best places I’ve stayed at, it was clean, neat, and had all the essentials. The building was key access only, that made me feel much better about safty. He gave us two sets of key. Explained everything very well before leaving. The stay was easy and no problem. Did have to call to tell that the dryer goes on for every and just never really stops it still drys just doesn’t seem to know when to stop. He was very understand and said she would look at it when we left. Over all this place was amazing location, view, and price! Definitely would stay again!
