Top Homington Down Hotel Reviews
Old Mill Salisbury
8/10 Good
"Stunning property and location. Restaurant had a good variety of food options but now vast. Bed was comfortable and facilities in room were good. The only thing I took a star off for was the heat at the top of the property where are room was. They provided a fan and we had the only unpainted shut window open. Also if like me you have arthritis the stairs were fairly steep."
The Riverside, WorldHotels Distinctive
10/10 Excellent
"Lovely, spotless room. Staff always polite and willing to help. The breakfast was excellent. We had lunch at the hotel also, which was very good, I have some dietary issues and the staff/kitchen were more than happy to adapt my chosen dish for me. Plenty of room to park avoiding having to find a parking space which could be a long distance from the hotel, which is particularly important for us due to issues a member of our party has with walking long distances. A lovely view of the river and Salisbury Cathedral from the balcony leading off the bar/restaurant. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay."
Milford Hall Salisbury
10/10 Excellent
"We stayed here as a base to visit Stonehenge. We were surprised at the quality of our stay here. The staff were very nice and helpful. It is a small parking lot and they had a function which took up the lot. The staff were incredibly helpful in find a spot for me, so I didn't have to park off site. The room was excellent, clean spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Had dinner in the main restaurant. The food and service - 5 stars. Overall our family had a wonderful time here. Close to all the local attractions: Queen Elizabeth Gardens, Salisbury Cathedral Close and Stonehenge."
Peartree Serviced Apartments
10/10 Excellent
"Clean and quiet. Had what we needed to cook. Walkable distance from grocery store, pharmacy. Next to train station. Would go back!"
Best Western Red Lion Hotel
8/10 Good
"Atmospheric inn located near the marketplace and high street shopping. Very helpful staff. The historic inn is very well maintained but halls are narrow and floors uneven reflecting its age. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom is fine but basic and unfortunately the fixed showerhead is poorly situated unless you are very tall. An added handheld option for flexibility would be much better. There is a nice bar but no dinner service, although solid options are close by. All in all I enjoyed my overnight stay."
The Chapter House
10/10 Excellent
"Unique historic property. A restaurant with rooms … definitely not your usual chain hotel room. In a building hundreds of years old the floors and stairs are very wonky … so mind your step! We loved the character of the buildings and our room (no. 6 … not all rooms have wood panelling this dark!) … it was spacious and had everything we needed. And the food in the restaurant was great … both for evening meal and breakfast."
The Merchant's House, BW Signature Collection
10/10 Excellent
"My third time staying at this hotel and I can’t fault it again. The room was lovely and the perfect size just for me. If I was taller I would have said the shower was a bit in the short side but at 5’7 it was perfect. The air con was also a god send in the heatwave"
The Room in the Garden
10/10 Excellent
"A lovely, peaceful room in the hosts’ garden (it does what it says on the tin!). The cool patio seating area was most welcome in the heatwave and the room provided everything we needed for a short stay, with excellent quality furnishings. Breakfast was delightful, and we wished we could stay a little bit longer. Thank you to Janine for sharing your home with us, it was very much what we needed after a long journey."
Rose and Crown Hotel
8/10 Good
"Have stayed here a number of times now. Great location on the river. Being able to park so near the cathedral is a real bonus. Staff always very helpful and friendly. We don't always eat at the hotel but when we have it's been good."
