    Well worth a visit

From the initial booking to attend a family funeral in Nth Devon, a particular thumbs up to mention a few, Michelle and Mark reception, Jack pool side (really helpful to my wife's rehabilitation for a fractured leg). The staff and conditions were so good that we booked a further nights accommodation. Will definitely use again as its my wife's big birthday coming up in early February and we may use it as a base to visit relatives in Devon, (If the price is right)

    Disappointing stay, quick departure.

I booked this trip for a nice night away with the wife after being away due to work commitments. I cannot fault the location, the staff nor the pictures (they are accurate it does look nice). However I was dissatisfied with a 4pm checkin and 10am checkout. But decided to initially continue to visit as it did look promising. When we checked in was met with suprises. That the onsite restaurant was fully booked, the spa was adddtion cost (£5pp) and breakfast isnt cooked but they sell a hamper of good to cook yourself. The idea of relaxing suddenly disappeared. Having to navigate the country lanes to a pub , unable to drink as I was driving and not able to enjoy the spa as I would need to account for the journey to the pub. That was further compounded knowing I'd either be cooking breakfast or be prepared to drive offsite again to find a restaurant , and be checked out by 10am :(. My advice is plan ahead. Call to reserve the restaurant if u dont want to be driving offsite. There are no food shops onsite so if you do want to cook yourself bring ur own food. The lodges do have the cutlery to self cater. Read the small print extras on the booking pages as this isnt obvious. I accept I didnt but to anyone else I wouldnt want you being dissatisfied with your stay. In short I was checked out after 30mins and went elsewhere that could accommodate a relaxing feet up weekend.

      Amazing Stay. Beautiful.

This place was absolutely amazing. The accommodation was simply superb. I love the fact that the complimentary coffee, that you often get, was fresh filter coffee. The best stay i have had in ages. I wpuld highly recommend.
