This property has a rat problem
This property is owned by Vacasa. You just book through Vrbo. On the surface, everything about this place is great. Unfortunately, we saw a rat multiple times in the kitchen. It was clearly familiar and comfortable with the place as it knew right where to scurry and climb that would let it vanish. We had our dog with us and were uneasy thinking about whether the rat had helped itself to our dog's food or water bowls. We look around and there were no supplies to deal with the situation, e.g. traps.
It's not uncommon to have rats in the country, of course, but this is a vacation property. We wanted to relax. Repeated calls to Vacasa resulted in representatives telling us to "just stay there" and deal with it. If we'd had a toddler or a baby, you can't tell me that'd be the going advice.
We ended our trip early and drove home because of this. Since then, neither Vacasa corporate, the local Vacasa team, nor Vrbo have been any help. We have not been refunded for the time we didn't stay nor have we been given any kind of partial credit to use on either site. No one has even been remotely apologetic. Won't be staying here again, obviously, and also will never book another Vacasa property again. Terrible customer service and money wasted.
