"Our stay was wonderful. The room was clean and spacious. The sister hotel, Hotel Romantik Santis, was also excellent. The sauna is located offsite (not at Hecht) but was easy to reserve. Also, I highly recommend the restaurant at Santis. The food, wine menu, and service were outstanding."
"Loved walking around and shopping in charming, old Swiss Appenzell as well as the variety of restaurants. Our room was comfortable and the owner and employees’ attention to details made it special, like a terrarium in the bathroom, good breakfast included, limited parking in their lot, and a large selection of tv channels. "The hotel breakfast was amazing and the local water was delicious! We checked in after hours so that was a little complicated and we didn’t have any information on breakfast times or checkout times but I found it online. "
"The hotel was nice and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. There is no air-conditioning and the weather was hot, so the room was uncomfortable. The second day we asked forva fan, and they brought us a small one that was partially broken, butbit did help. The location was fine, on a main square, close to the restaurants, but a 8-10 minute walk to the teain station, our primary transportation. They had a wonderful breakfast available, and the restaurant was quite good for dinner as well."

"Excellent, very helpful staff. A super room (we were upgraded) with sinks in the large bedroom and the WC. Up-to-date, but with beautiful wood joinery. Fine breakfast, with a gluten-free option. Elevator and library and a good location a few hundred yards from the main square. No restaurant, but there are many others nearby, including at their partner Hotel Romantic Santis on the main square. Has a same-day laundry service. Only drawback is lack of parking, but you can stop in front to load and unload, then park in the public parking."
