Nice stay, rooms needing a makeover

Posted 19-Jan-2016
Pros: Location, staff.
Cons: Need to modernize a bit
Good, centrally located hotel with very nice staff. I found the rooms a little run down (peeling paint on the bathroom ceiling, some mildew, etc.). The bathroom was very basic.

Nice Convenient Hotel

Posted 14-Jan-2016
Pros: Convenient to Central Hobart and the stores.
The airport bus dropped us off right the front door of the hotel. Room was clean, beds comfortable, flat screen TV, refrigerator, free wifi and easy walking distances to central Hobart and the harbor. Will stay here again.

Great place to stay in Hobart

Posted 14-Jan-2016
Pros: Nice clean and quiet room.
We were looking for a nice relaxing place to stay while we were in Hobart. The Best Western was easy to find and the staff went out of their way to make our stay a relaxing one. The hotel has parking for vehicles and a small additional charge. The room was nice and clean and quiet.

In need of refurbishing.

Posted 12-Jan-2016
We stayed in this twice as we were passing through Hobart on our way to the National Parks. Both rooms we stayed in were tatty, with bathrooms showing gins of damp and poor cleaning. Rooms were of a good size and the tv was a nice large smart model, but more investment is needed in the rooms to bri them up to this standard.

Friendly staff, but hotel is tired and outdated.

Posted 04-Jan-2016
All the staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful. The rooms themselves were clean, and the beds comfortable. In that sense, it does the job. Prices were not cheap, but that is probably due to the fact that we were in Hobart the same time the Sydney-Hobart Boat race finished, as well as the X-mas and new year festive period. However, it does very much feel like a hotel stuck in the 80s. The furnishings and facilities are tired and in need of a refurbishment.

out of date

Posted 06-Dec-2015
The hotel reminded me of hotel rooms I considered appropriate in the 1980s. The entire hotel shows signs of wear and tear, and the overall features of the room may have been state of the art 30 years ago but not now. Negative experiences: - Gym was rather dark and there were no towels - For the day of check-out I had asked for a wake-up call, which came 15 min later than requested. Had I not set an extra alarm, I might have missed my transfer to the airport. Positive experience: - The in-house restaurant was of much better quality than the overall hotel, for basically all the dishes we had. It could be recommended even for people not staying at the hotel. - The bandwith of the free WLAN was very good.

close to city

Posted 08-Nov-2015
Pros: Convenient location. Well serviced. Undercover parking.
Cons: After hours in-room dining. Menu variety, very little to choose. My work meant I was returning to the hotel after 9.00pm
Location: Don't know. This was a business trip and didn't go looking
Not my first choice. Hobart was heavily booked and my usual hotel was unavailable but was pleasantly surprised. Nice room, good food well prepared. This was a business trip and I have booked for a further week.
