    Wonderful

This is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. I splurged and paid for a private room, and it was nicer than any of the hotels I stayed at in Vietnam - and I stayed at a 4 star my first 2 days here. The bed was super comfortable (only really comfortable bed I slept in my whole 2 week trip) and the room was well decorated. It felt 5 star. The atmosphere is where this place really shines though; I think it attracts a little it older traveler (25-35 years old seemed the norm), likely because of the higher price, and the common spaces were great for meeting people. Definitely not a party hostel, but a very social one. Reminds me almost of an upscale coliving space. If I ever come back to Saigon, I will make a point in coming here again.

Outskirts of Town but Worth It

Staff was super helpful and the beds were comfy and clean. Hostel cat was adorable and super sweet, made me feel right at home! Only downside is its kind of far from things, but a grab is about 40-50 THB into town and a bus is 5 THB.

The Common Room is an amazing hostel with wonderful service and a homey atmosphere. A welcome refuge from the fray of HCMC!

I've stayed in a number of hostels around the world and The Common Room Project is among my favourite by far. The staff are super friendly and willing to help in any way they can, it's clean and comfortable. It's a little away from the 'Tourist area' District 1 so is a bit quieter, and has a really nice rooftop area to chill out (currently undergoing renovation). It's close to some fantastic food places, as well as the fashion and artist streets. They have a couple of cats that live there, they are really friendly but just something to be mindful of if you have allergies
