Centrally located. Close to Stena Line ferry and train/bus terminal, so easy to get anywhere. Hotel is hip and cool and modern. Loved my stay. Loved my room on the upper floor (4th but odd to get to) with the vaulted ceilings. Perfect size for the week. I was safe. Breakfast was gorgeous and delicious. Plenty to choose from. Will definitely stay here again and I cannot recommend it enough.

Beautiful property in the centre of the city. The breakfast dinner is a triumph in terms of design of the space and quality of what is provided for breakfast. Really enjoyed this place.

I was caught in a storm and needed a last minute stay. This place was cozy and everything I needed was available without having to step into the storm. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Restaurant next door was delicious and convenient.

Nice stay during COVID times
Despite Covid times we didn’t miss anything, we had some plates, glasses, napkins and cutlery in the desk for our take away dinner. Nice service in the morning, good breakfast and very friendly personnel 

A perfect breakfast for a nice start of the day
We especially liked the breakfast with a variety of bread, pancakes, cakes, cheese and fruit. Very pleasant.

First Danish Hotel
Room was small and hot. There was a portable fan, but too small.breakfast was very good. They did have an elevator to the second floor. WiFi was good and bed was comfortable. I am not familiar with Danish hotels so it is hard to compare.

Nice room with modern danish design. The hallway and the elevator need some remodeling. Nice parking facility on the back of the hotel. Overall a pleasant experience.

Comfortable stay
We arrived late evening and had a wonderful welcome by the night Manager. We had a problem with our room however this was quickly remedied. The breakfast choice was amazing and the only criticism was the flies.., they need to cover the cheese etc. Apart from that everything was great!

We were coming off the Ferry from Sweden and it was late with poor weather. We just needed a close hotel. We were so surprised to find that we could NOT eat Dinner since we didn't PRE-PAY our Dinner vouchers? WHAT? If I had known, I would have done so. Why is this NOT explained during booking? So off we went out into the Cold Pouring rainy night to find dinner. You did us a favor. The Best Italian Food we ever had in this little tucked away spot.

This hotel was in a great location to catch the ferry to Sweden which is what we did. The shops were close by central to most things.

Great location, just off pedestrian street. Comfortable clean lobby and rooms. We upgraded to a Business room, which was larger and more comfortable for our 4 night stay. Empire restaurant has great burgers in a supriseING American atmosphere. Free parking out back.

Super cute hotel in the heart of downtown. Clean and comfy with attention to detail. ideal if you prefer the smaller hotels with more character. Great ambiance and super nice staff

An OK hotel with very small rooms
The room was very small and very hot (no air con but they did provide a fan which needed to be on all night). Bed was small and too soft and poor quality pillows. Tiny bathroom with smallest sink I've come across but good shower. Communal areas of the hotel were nicely decorated and the breakfast was good.

Best Western makes it right in Frederikshavn
Initially we were unimpressed with the Hotel Herman Bang. The first day we did not receive our requested wake-up call and the the maid did not fully clean and re-stock our room, plus our room faced the main street and the traffic noise was terrible. When we mentioned the situation to the front desk clerk we were moved to a much nicer, larger room with a deck and kitchenette at no additional charge. The desk clerk, Jonathan, also recommended a wonderful restaurant (Cafe Feen) for a traditional Danish dinner. All of these gestures caused us to totally revise our initial opinion of the hotel.

Great location, close to Fredrickshavn port and oil terminal. Great for business travellers required to be in that area. Also conveniently located near shops and restaurants.

A lovely warm welcome at this hotel. I stayed for just one night. The hotel is about a ten minute walk from the train station and is close to the pedestrian shopping street. Great wifi connection in my room gave me the opportunity to work from the hotel. The room wasn't spacious but as I was travelling alone that wasn't a problem for me. The adjoining shower room was lovely with a good, powerful shower. The room wasn't spotlessly clean, but not so bad that it required a formal complaint.

Room 209 was nicely siuated at the end of the corridoor but was extremely small for a Double, with very little space to spread out. Other than that, the Hotel was clean and functional with friendly staff. A good spread for breakfast too !

Positives: good location, clean rooms, nice personnel, decent breakfast. Flaws: Rooms are tiny - for Europeans it is enough, but for American tourists it will be too small. We were staying on the 4th floor at the attic, and we had an information on the skylight window "do not open unless the fire hazard". The ventilation is however very poor, so after taking a shower, the bathroom and whole room were like sauna. We had 2 single beds instead of one double. Single like I have not seen since I was 6 yo.Even if the width of the bed was a standard 80 cm, the top mattress was much narrower, and there was big hole between beds, so hugging is out of question. The bathroom is decent size, although requires some acrobatic skills to close the door when inside. Generally clean, however there were black trails (of possibly fungus) 10 cm over the floor in a shower area. The shower is a disaster - the floor in the shower is not correctly shaped, so the water spreads in entire bathroom. There is no way to regulate water temperature - it is either cold or hot, even if you regulated it and then did not touch the taps. Drainage in the sink does not have the strainer, so if your jewelry falls into sink, forget about getting it back. After I have posted my review on tripadvisor, the hotel responded that the room was "economy" type, so maybe other rooms are better.
