Cottage by the water in Sundsby nature reserve

Tucked away in the Sundsby nature reserve, right by the waters of Stigfjorden, you'll find a unique architect-designed studio from 1980. This charming guest house has been carefully renovated using recycled materials and traditional techniques such as linseed oil paints and egg tempera, creating an authentic atmosphere that takes you back in time.





In the loft, you will find a large, comfortable bed with a view of the water, perfect for lazy mornings. The ground floor has a well-equipped kitchen and a living room with cozy armchairs, a kitchen sofa, and a warming stove. The antique hand-painted sink in the bathroom and the solar-powered outdoor shower add to the unique character of the house.





From the private patio, you can enjoy views of the fjord and the blooming garden with over 50 different varieties of roses. There is also a barbecue and a lounge sofa where you can spend long summer evenings among butterflies and fragrant herbs.



From the guest parking lot, it is a short walk into the forest on the hiking trail, where you will reach the guest house, right by the water of the Stigfjorden. There is almost no car traffic in the area, so as not to disturb those hiking in the reserve.



A ten-minute walk through the forest takes you to Sundsby Manor with its restaurant and café. The area offers fantastic hiking trails where you can discover Solklinten, mysterious caves, and historical sites. On warm days, the nearby cliffs invite you to take a refreshing dip, and in winter you can visit the manor's Christmas market or explore nearby attractions such as Pilane Sculpture Park and Hawaii Sea Baths.
