Would definitly stay here again. Room was beautiful. Bed/pillows very comfortable. Staff was great. Beautiful courtyard. On premises restaurant gets 5 stars for the meals my husband and I ordered. Location is close to the waterfront, shopping, museums and restaurant.
We loved our time in Charleston, and the Elliot House Inn was a lovely place to stay. The hotel is right in the middle of two fabulous restaurants, and close to the beautiful King Street shops. We walked everywhere! Our concierge, Eric, was absolutely amazing! He took time to print us out information sheets about local attractions and marked a map highlighting all of them. The wine and cheese hour was a bonus that we greatly enjoyed each evening. We also enjoyed the refreshing pink lemonade and iced tea left in the courtyard during the hot days. We had our 1 year old daughter with us, so our room was a little small, however had it just been my husband and I it would have been perfect. Our air conditioning unit was pretty loud as was the crashing glass when the restaurants emptied their recycling throughout the evening. However, the hotel itself was wonderful, a nice and friendly home away from home.

very noisy. For a "luxury" high priced hotel......it was difficult to be in our room, both day and night, due to maintenance, hallway, air conditioning, etc noise levels. We would have loved to enjoy being in room, but not possible due to the noise levels through the ceiling and walls. Have stayed in many resorts, hotels, etc around the world. Prices at Belmond are too inflated for the room, food and lobby/bar quality. Overall a nice experience, but definitely did not deliver for the prices
Great location, wonderful staff. Breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese was awesome. Older hotel. Could use a little updating and sprucing up here and there, but wonderful stay. Would recommend it highly.

"Great Location and Service; Love the "Art" Theme"
The Vendue works at exceeding expectations and it did just that. Everyone was quite pleasant and helpful, even when we checked in at 5:30 AM. We think the evening meal at the restaurant was our best of the entire trip! Go on Tuesday when the resident artist is painting in the dining room. Be sure to chat with Emily, the art docent about the art in the hotel; she's very knowledgeable. No fault of the hotel, but our worst part of the experience was Charleston Street dept was digging up the pavement right outside our window at nighttime the last two nights.
Our snowman, RBDN, loved spending the day looking out the window. (See Picture)
Spent 5 nights at the A.P. Inn with my mom
during a mother/daughter trip to Charleston. Each member of the staff we encountered was pleasant and helpful. Location is only a block from the market shops and horse carriages. Room was cute and clean. Keep in mind it is a historic boutique hotel so the rooms are not huge. Each morning they serve a lovely breakfast on the rooftop terrace. Trays are provided if you would rather take your breakfast back to your room to enjoy. Overall a very nice stay and we would stay there again without hesitation.
Dating back to Colonial times, Charleston, home to 120,000 people, was nearly obliterated during the American Civil War. However, some historic buildings remain and are popular destinations, including Fort Sumnter, Boone Hall Plantation, and the Old Exchange Buildings. The South Carolina Aquarium, home to 10,000 plants and animals, is another popular tourist attraction.
