Nice Location

Posted 16-Mar-2017
Pros: location and the hotel staffs
Cons: the pillow
Stayed here last March 12-15,2017 . had booked 2 rooms for a total of 4 people. the hotel staffs were very friendly and helpful with our needs. their ometenashi to help us find our way where we want to go were so cool. their buffet were nice too. the location are so cool it's near anything. train station are near , ferry terminal from Hiroshima Memorial Peace Park to Miyajima is so close as well. Shopping alley to selecting foods of your choice are nearby too.

Great place!!!

The staff were all so very nice. The hotel was located conveniently in downtown Hiroshima, so it was possible to get to most places by walking. Would come back next time I'm in Hiroshima!!!

need to replace carpets

Posted 03-Dec-2016 on Hotels
carpet is filthy. Both in the hallway and in the room. most Japanese beds lean toward the hard side. This was too soft from being worn. This could be a steal of a deal if the carpets were not so worn and dirty

Friendly But Disappointing...

Posted 14-Oct-2016 on Hotels
Overall I was pretty disappointed in this hotel. Signs outside said the hotel was celebrating 50 years and it felt it. Inside the room was just ok, a little bigger than your typical Japanese hotel room. The free Wifi was only in the lobby, not in our rooms. The room was very obviously not non-smoking. The hallway reeked of smoke which carried into the room more than I would have liked. The hallway carpeting was also disgusting and in major need of repair. The beds were fairly comfortable, except for our poor 3rd person who we didn't realize would be sleeping on a hard cot. The nicest part about the room was the bathroom, which looked like everything had been recently updated except for the shower curtain which had either cigarette burns or mold on it, I couldn't be sure which. The hotel staff was also very friendly which left a much better impression than the room. Overall maybe I got what I paid for with the room being at the price it was at, but it felt a bit like false advertising. It's really too bad because with a few updates and better cleaning this could be a really great hotel, especially with a great location like it has.

Great location but hotel needs some love

Posted 11-Oct-2016 on Hotels
Hiroshima Kokusai Hotel was a good value for location and very friendly staff. The hotel needs some upgrades like carpeting in the halls but the room unit bath was very new. It was comfortable and so close to Hondori - which was great when it began to rain hard - I could still go out to shop and eat and drink without an umbrella due to the overhead canopy on Hondori. I think I will stay here again due to the value.

Hiroshima Kokusai Hotel - mid summer - 2 nights

Posted 24-Jul-2016 on Hotels
Staff very helpful but with limited English. Was able to manage all our enquiries efficiently and promptly. The room was great however, the upper floors where the Western style room are located are in need of an upgrade/renovation. Lovely lobby and elevator, but upon getting out at our floor very noticable old, worn threadbare carpet with badly stained walls. Did not adversely effect our enjoyable stay, but could certainly do with some modernisation.
