I would seriously recommend everyone this hotel, the o my observation is that the carpet is a little old and might need some paint, other than that the staff is super friendly, the service is great, and the price is awesome, all the great spots are close 10 to 15 min walking, and there are a lot of food options on the way and close to the hotel, Kombini everywhere and it’s safe and quiet.

Small but great
A/C worked but not strong enuff great price for the room it was small but eas perfect cause all we needed was to sleep. Might be good for a single traveler for long stays maybe a couple. Perfect cause it was close to all kinda of stores restaurants and entertainment.

The seventies called...they want their hotel back
We were here on a family vacation and needed two rooms with two beds each. The hotel was very dated with only minimal upkeep in the last 50 years or so. Rooms were supposed to be non-smoking, but have been smoking rooms for probably over 30 years, so it's steeped into the walls. Every time we entered our rooms, we had to open the windows to get some fresh air in (we were there in the middle of winter). Beds were not very comfortable and a(n unnecessary) third bed was squeezed into our rooms, making it impossible to fully use the already small room. Location was decent though.

the staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel is very well located.However, the carpets were very old and dirty. The beds were in very bad shape. We had difficulty sleeping well. This hotel is not a 3 star hotel at all. It needs to be fully renovated. the only good thing was the bathroom.

Excellent location! This hotel is within walking distance to sights, Hiroshima Station, shopping and just about any food you can think of. It’s cleanliness standards fall short of Tue norm for Japan. There was mold on the ceiling and dust in the rug. With many hotels nearby I would not choose this one again.

non-smoking room is just a normal smoking room... the smell of cigarettes is sooo strong, I asked for a room change.. they are all the same. The room carpet is the worse, literally dark and not by color...

It's a nice hotel, it is clean and I have had some great nights of sleep. This hotel is at a very convenient place, in a nice shopping area and close to peace memorial park.

Best hotel location. There was lots of pogo players in the evening hours. Two curry restaurants across the street. It also has a nice lounge area but the negative was it is near the designated smoking area.

great location. got the japanese room and is pretty spacious. the matress on the floor however is pretty ordinary. you feel like you are on floor. smoking area is next to the breakfast place which does not make sense. overall great place for the price and hiroahima is a great place to visit for a few day

Do not book the Japanese style room!!!
We stayed in a Japanese style room for 4 nights. Although the room is big, it is old looking, dirty and dusty. The room is on the 4th floor, same floor where banquets are held. We noticed some of the rooms that look like ours were used for hosting small banquets. It was noisy every night and especially on weekend. You will think the hotel will have a closing time for the banquet. But hell no! On the last night which was a Monday night, the banquet guests were making hell lot of noise past midnight and disturbed our sleep. I think we are the only group who stayed on that floor. We can also hear noise coming from the street in early morning during weekend as people were talking loudly outside the convenient store. Bad choice! The only good point about the hotel is convenient location near shopping and restaurants. Convenient store is just on the opposite building.

Hotel Kokasai was good.
Hotel Kokusai is close to tram line from station and half a block from a large shopping arcade. Walking distance (15 minutes) from a main street that passes outside the Peace Museum and had fantastic illuminations at night. Quad Room is dated but comfortable with small bathroom. Staff were helpful and kept our luggage as we arrived early and again when we left later after checkout.

The entire hotel smelled like smoke even in our non-smoking room. Worse in the evening. The bathroom was nice and clean (save a little mold on the curtain) but the room was pretty outdated with old spring mattress beds. The breakfast was good but as we went near closing time there was hardly anything left and not much selection. One plus was the location was great, all the main 'attractions' of Hiroshima were within walking distance and lots of food and stores nearby.

Perfect location. A 10 min walk from the subway. JR pass holders can alight at Kamiya-cho when using the Meipuro free sight seeing shuttle. Smack in the center of the shopping/food area. Everything is right here. :) Bigger than standard Japanese Business hotel. it got everything you need. Space, Shower ammenities, kettle, a tub and even a Robe. It is a bit dated though, but the best deal in all my Japanese hotel booking got so far. Will definitely book this again.
