The bed side light didn't work and there was only a thin duvet. Staff were helpful but if you're looking fpr luxury don't stay here!

Stay was ok but not happy we had to keep asking for heating controls in our room to be put back in our control as they are now controlled in office,breakfast getting worse,cereals left open,strawberry jam now in squeeze containers like puree,ok if you have a baby.fruit not good,less to choose from each time we go,

The property was perfect for what we needed. My only suggestion is to have a laundrette on site so we would wash the clothes. I'm positive more travellers, especially with children would appreciate having one where they dont have to travel to.

The room itself is very clean and the bathroom in particular looks very new. The staff are lovely. Just its a shame that the whole outside of the building is so awful. Plus not being able to go for the included breakfast at any time, but instead being forced to book a time slot. Luckily i had a late departing train as the only slots avaialble were after 10am

Great location for central Wakefield. Literally couple of minutes walk to the heart of Wakefield. Got parked easily at the hotel.

This hotel is... fine. The room was serviceably clean and soaps/shampoo etc were great, but the paintwork was either filthy (the walls) or peeling (the ceiling, especially the bathroom). Would've appreciated basic inclusions of things like a plug for the shower drain hole. Breakfast wasn't fabulous - there were a few options but hot options didn't look at all appealing. The staff were kind on check in.

Awful
Booed in for two nights after staying a few weeks ago. Oh my God what a nightmare the room we were give so noisy 307 if you get it beware. Next morning spoke to the girl on reception dark hair couldn't be more helpful or polite changed our room immediately 304. Went out for the day came back tea time paid parking again for the night went up to room. Couldn't get in locked out went down to reception oh yeah there was an issue house keeping went in and no one should have been in there so they locked you out. Well they let us pay for parking take lift up to come back down !!!! Thanks severe lack of communication then we needed a bulb for the lamp at bedside we got this relatively easy. The room was freezing cold i mean cold we couldn't undress into pjs because it was cold. We had adjusted the heating in the morning for us going back in the evening house keeping turned it off. It wasn't even left at a comfortable temperature requested by law !!! So in comparison to our last stay it was disgraceful!!!! And we had recommended this to friends. The difference in staff attitude also speaks volumes.

Mini break
Stayed before ..got a nice quiet room. Every thing worked in the room and WiFi great. Breakfast was included I was pleased to hear they have added hash browns sadly when I tried the hash brown it didn't taste nice at all. Bacon and sausage and beans ok and my mum enjoyed her scrambled egg. I'd recommend much better quality hash browns tho. Other than that great stay and staff very nice as always.

Breakfast booking disappointment
I was disappointed that my room was freezing in my arrival, especially as the temperature outsidewas -2. You'dhave thought they would atleast turn the thermostatup a bit! However, it did warm up faiy quickly. Everywhere was lovely and clean and the bed was reasonably comfortable. We booked breakfast for 9am but on arrival downstairs qe were told the diving room was full and that we were booked in for 9.30. My son was not happy about this and we went back upstairs to get our things and leave. On returning back down at reception the manager came and apologised and found a table for us. The staff were very accommodating and helpful even if they were busy .very clean hotel and quiet . Nice breakfast a good selection of food .Overall a great one night stay.

Filthy Hotel
Hotel could do with a total update. Carpets filthy as were the chairs in the room and the bar area. Sofa in bar area had a filthy covering over it. Receptionist helpful on arrival. Pizza was the only offering for a meal. Breakfast was of a very poor quality. Would avoid this location and try other hotels

A great stay at the Wakefield Holiday Inn Express
From the initial welcoming greeting from the reception desk during our check-in to our wonderful breakfast on the following morning, we confirm that we enjoyed a great stay at the hotel. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and comfortable and the rooms were quiet during the night. We would have no hesitation in returning to the venue during our next visit to our family

Perfect place for a Wakefield break
Really comfortable stay - good breakfast, clean comfortable room. The only downside for me as a single woman was that the restaurant was not open in the evening for a meal so I had to venture out. Excellent location too in centre of the city.

Good place to stay.
The hotel was clean and up-to-date. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Parking available in a garage across the street which was reasonable. There were several restaurants and shops within walking distance.

Far better hotel and cheaper than the one I stayed in in London on my way to and from Wakefield - in everyway. Staff were friendly and accomodating. Lots of amenities included in price. Room was large and contemporary. If you can't afford the grandest hotel in town but still want a decent stay, this is a fantastic place to stay

Lack of sausages
Staff great helpful..WiFi good was warm. Bed I had seemed old tilted abit to one side recommended on leaving they get a new bed in there with a stronger mattress. Room was clean only thing I found somethings in the fridge that were clearly left by someone else. Breakfast good although they didnt have any sausages on my last morning I was gutted. Hopefully when I return if I have the same room it has a better mattress and I hope they have sausages.

The hotel was ideal for the short stay we required. The staff dealt with any problems we had. Breakfast was a bit basic but met the needs of a meal before we went out for the day.

Outside the propety, there was rubbish from the bins scattered all around, not a very good view from a hotel window, or passing on the street.

Room was nice and clean except the armchair that was covered in dust and hairs. Bed mattress was not comfortable and the quality of towels was not very good. Breakfast was ok, but on the second day there was no sausages and no fruits.

Broken stay
Booked for friends on a week long visit to Yorkshire.. They loved this hotel.. Location brilliant for Wakefield and Yorkshire... Stayed 3 nights then had a night in the Dales so back for 2 more nights.. Picked up where they left off.. Great staff and made most welcome the whole time at the hotel.. Thank you
