It was clean, but very outdated. Additionally, there was a permanent staying on the carpet. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. They charge for extra people, including infants.

As far as the extra charge, unfortunately, if you had included the child as a person on the reservation, the total would have shown you the price increase before you finalized your reservation. Lovely privately operated property. Very clean and comfortable room. We had a very spacious king room with 4 seating options including a nice rocking recliner. The furniture was dated, but that is part of the charm of this very well managed retro, drive up to your room motor inn. There are many eating options within a short drive. I will definitely stay here again if I'm in the area. A great value!

This little hotel is exceptionally clean. The manager here is just a great person and runs a tight ship, the only negative is the extremely busy road right next to the place. Not one single complaint about the actual business. I highly recommend.

We loved this little gem! Sparkling clean, friendly staff, good location. Across the highway are 3 restaurants: Italian, Mexican and Japanese. We had dinner at the Italian and it was very good. The calzones get 5 🌟. The hotel serves coffee in the lobby. There is a nice convenience store across the road that is open 24 hrs.

They don't take pets even small dogs, even for one night. they also don't like children. Dont book here if you have a pet or a child.

Hello Mr. Austin,It clearly states on all websites we are NOT pet friendly, you were told this at check in as well. You said you were going to see if you could leave the dog with your Cousin down the street for the night, and decided to not come back. We did NOT cancel your reservation you CHOSE to bring the dog against our rules. As far as the we don't like children part, that is completely untrue!! There was no refrigerator or microwave in the room Both beds were lumpy and put my back into spasms The price has gone up tremendously 135 dollars a night is outrageous for this room You have no breakfast The staff was nice But when we asked for coffee He told us to go to the store next door as he was not going to make any We have stayed at this motel for over 7 years twice a year But we we will not be staying here anymore It is sad that our little motel has gone down so bad I understand that smoking is only allowed at the fire pit And when I went out there to smoke The group of folks (Harley riders were so offensive with their bad jokes and terrible language) On Sunday morning we were getting ready to leave and it was pouring down rain so I was standing at the edge of the drive through awning smoking The lady came out and was very rude to me about smoking and told me that I would have to stand out in the downpour at the pit to smoke) In the past the staff was always friendly and accommodating But not anymore Good bye Carolina Motel

Quaint motel.
This is a mom&pop hotel like many in the area. We like to stay at them for the quirkiness and to support small businesses. The room was fine, although only one bed had a bedside table. The shower is tiny. But it was clean and decent sized other than that. I liked the convenience of parking right in front of the room and no stairs/elevator. We didn't have much interaction with staff, but they were pleasant when we did.

An “old time” roadside motel that has retained the charm of it’s era and has been maintained to present day standards. My check-in “briefing” was very detailed, outlining the hours of available amenities (swimming pool and fire pit in the evening), along with a review of checkout in the morning. No rush, checkout is by 11:00. My room was quiet despite the proximity to the roadway. It was very clean, upgrades in the bathroom evident. Bedding was newish and comfortable. Easy in and out, parking directly in front of each room. A quick unload from the car, pack up in the morning. All in all, a very pleasant experience!

This is a great non-chain property. We got a kick out of a real key for the door instead of the electronic card. The room was older and dated, but everything worked and was very clean. The pool looked great and there was a fire pit with comfy chairs. The man at the front desk was exceptional. He asked questions about what we were doing, then provided maps, directions and advice, all of which helped tremendously. After asking about our eating preferences and allergies, he also recommended several nearby restaurants, all of which he was spot-on about. Staying here definitely made our two-night stay much better!

Heaven on earth!

Carolina Motel is always clean and comfortable- I traveled alone to visit my Family in that area and to attend a high school reunion. Their staff is extremely accommodating and Friendly. Their rates are reasonable for the mountain area.

I highly recommend The Carolina Motel in Franklin, NC, to anyone visiting the area! Over the past few years, I’ve stayed in one of their on-site cabins when bringing my elderly father to visit his boyhood hometown and have been blown away by the cleanliness and comfort of the accommodations. Having been more than satisfied during past stays, I chose to make reservations for their actual motel rooms for multiple family members for a recent funeral in Franklin for my father. Everyone was extremely happy with the room and site cleanliness and the outstanding service received. Thank you, David and the rest of the staff!!

It looks like a classic roadside motel from the 60's, and it might be, but unlike most it is beautifully maintained and managed and a delight after a long day of driving. Also near all the various amenities one might need.
