Amazing staff. Could do with improvement

Posted 06-Apr-2018
The most polite and helpful staff I may have ever met in a hotel. Amazing valet and concierge guys. Very expensive restaurants. Breakfast not the quality and not many options that I would expect for such an establishment. I was told I could have anything. Asked for nespresso caplets 3 times and the reception forgot three times. I asked for corned beef hash and friend potatoes. The Grove said no. Rooms need a bit of a refurb due to old furniture. The ironing board is fitted with an iron board cover that is too large for it and therefore doesn't fit. My wife burnt herself as the ironing board cover kept flopping. When we asked for another ironing board, same problem. I did offer to got o B&Q and get some new ironing boards complete with covers that fitted.

Fabulous 5 Star stay

Posted 13-Mar-2018
I recently celebrated a big birthday with friends at the Grove. The restaurants are lovely and the staff are amazing, very friendly and down to earth. We never felt rushed at the hotel whether we were at the spa or dining at the glasshouse restaurant. I highly recommend staying and plan on returning soon with my husband and 2 children

Great hotel if you don't mind spending some money

Posted 05-Mar-2018
I stay over the weekend. I use the pool and sauna and steam room. I tried all the restaurants and the room service for breakfast. Everything was good but quite expensive. I had only one complaint. It was about the cappuccino. The quality of the coffee was just not what I'm used to. My local independent coffee shop does better coffee then they do. I would expect from 5* hotel to have excellent coffee. Other than that all was good.

Poor service and overpriced

Posted 19-Feb-2018
Waited 50 mins for a club sandwich. Service in general was very slow. Buffet dinner at Glasshouse was no better than that you would get at a 3 star package holiday. Drinks were ridiculously overpriced. Reception staff and room conditions were good.

A great escape from the city

Posted 19-Feb-2018
Our party which included teenagers enjoyed a blissful weekend. The food was excellent- the buffet dinner in the Glasshouse restaurant is a must-have - and there was simply lots to do for all age groups. From a games room, gym, bikes, treasure hunt, free massage chair, football pitch to lounging by the pool reading the papers. The hotel was completely full but it didn’t feel too busy and the staff were lovely. We will definitely be back!

Family of 12 had the buffet dinner at Glass house restaurant and stayed one night. Enjoyed the dinner. Very spacious hotel. Had big lounges to chill out after dinner.

Beautiful country hotel on outskirts of West Londo

Posted 02-Aug-2017
We have stayed at this hotel a number of times the most recent being this July 2017. Situate in an historic country house it has been very sympathetically extended to make it a large conference and event hotel with spa facilities and a championship golf course. The design and decor of the old part of the hotel and the new is modern, interesting and highly complimentary of each other. The landscaped gardens which surround all parts of the hotel are nothing short of outstanding. There are three restaurant options onsite all of which are worth a visit. There are three reasons why I have given this hotel a four star review. First the size of the hotel now and the fact that it has major banqueting and conference facilities means the hotel can sometimes, particularly in the spa/pool area, be quite busy and crowded. I suppose however that one buys into this when booking this hotel. Secondly the service at breakfast on both the mornings that we stayed this time was quite poor compared with the superb service that we received from staff elsewhere and the buffet style food offering (although chefs were standing by to cook eggs) was not of a five star quality. Thirdly there is no turn down service in the evening which one would expect in a five star hotel. Overall this is a superb hotel with great decor, lovely bar and guest areas
