Welcome to hell

First off you can't find the front door. There is no parking. Oh, wait you can park across the street for 5 pounds every 2 hours. There are 6 parking spaces for IGH rewards members with I am. Problem is they aren't big enough to park a vehicle in. We actually had people watching to see if we could make it. They don't furnish soap. They have those dispensers. Heat is on timers. Room had mold issues. Other then that, awesome place.

Overall a good experience

Posted 04-Oct-2015
Cons: They had a problem with their phones, and my 530 wakeup call didn't happen until 600. Fortunately I had a backup alarm, or might have missed my train.
Location: Appears to be a nice town, but I only used it as a place to stay between London and Cambridge.
Easy walking distance to the rail station, although we had to use a cab because of the volume of luggage we had. Near by food establishments. Room was reasonably sized (especially compared to the room in Chiswick we had two years ago). Beds were comfortable. I made an error when I booked and the room only had one bed, and I needed two. The staff quickly moved us into another room with no issue. Stevenage is a great place to stay to be near London without paying the higher rates to stay there. Even on Saturdays there's frequent express trains to Kings Cross Station in London, so popping into town is quick. With my daughter now safely at Cambridge, I would likely stay here again for the convenience and lower cost. Since she's going to be there a while, I'll probably be back numerous times.

Adequate & friendly.

Room was comfortable and clean, there was however an issue with the electrical items not working. I am expecting a refund for this, as agreed with the hotel receptionist. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The parking was unconventional - having to park in Matalan's car park. The breakfast was self serve, basic buffet and continental, but did the job.
