Nice hotel, poor location

Posted 27-Aug-2015
The hotel itself is very nice. Friendly staff who seemed only too happy to help when we needed them. The room itself was set out nicely for us (myself and three daughters) and there were no issues apart from no TV remote. But this was rectified in minutes following a quick call. The only thing I can grumble about was the cooked breakfast. Maybe a couple of other items could be available. But as I said, this is merely a grumble. The hotel is in a great location if you are visiting the Harry Potter World studio tour (as we did from Cornwall).

HOTEL STAY

Posted 13-Aug-2015
Pros: As above
Cons: As above
Location: Excellently situated for train station and the shuttle bus to Harry Potter and the Flag pub. Other than that not much to see.
Our stay at the hotel was very enjoyable. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was very clean, it got a bit hot at night but the air con came in very handy. The food was really nice, we enjoyed what we had. The only draw back was the train noise at night, although the trains were less than during the day. However we were expecting this after reading previous reviews, hence the air con on as apposed to windows open. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Simple motel convenient to Harry Potter tour

Posted 27-Jul-2015
Pros: Simple, clean, efficient.
Cons: Breakfast service.
Location: Harry Potter tour - amazing
Motel is clean and efficiently run. A bit noisy as it's right next to the main line railway at the back and to the high street at the front which seems to be used as a race track at night by the local formula one wannabees. Car parking is a bit haphazard too. Various small parks sub-let from local businesses. £5 a night. No bacon at breakfast!

Good room,rubbish breakfast

Posted 22-Jul-2015
The rooms are quite good. We've been surprised in the nice way as the room were big and comfy. However the breakfast was a totally different story. No bacon (in England for a cooked breakfast, no bacon???) the scrambled egg( well if we can call that like that...) were terrible, plastic taste, cheese taste more like plastic too than anybody else... If we would stay again? Definitely not as every single person of our party (7) have been disappointed by what they called "breakfast"

Hotel für die Durchreise

Posted 12-Jul-2015
Hotel für die Durchreise gebucht, jedoch ein Zimmer zum Bahnhof gehabt, damit entsprechende Lautstärke auch in der Nacht. Sonst jedoch Holiday Inn Express Standard.

Would stay here again

Posted 06-Jul-2015
Pros: Lovely and clean , friendly staff. We were allowed to leave the car parked during the next day while we took a trip in London.
Location: Perfect if you are going to Harry Potter Studios.
Picked the Hotel for its convenience to Station and Harry Potter Shuttle. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Hotel provided the usual level of Holiday Inn Express facilities which were more than enough for a one night stay. Found a nice Italian Restaurant for evening meal by taking a short walk up to Watford High Street .

Conveniently located and good value for money.

Very convenient location just round the corner from Watford Junction train station. Found it to be quite and well served. The staff on reception were welcoming and friendly during the check in and check out. The room was very clean along with the bathroom. Breakfast was included in the stay and was perhaps the area which requires most improvement as the buffet area was way too cramped to host the hungry souls. The selection was minimal but the food was decent. Nevertheless, I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.

Perfect location for Warner Brothers Studio Tour.

We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel so that we could go to the Harry Potter Studio and spend the day sight seeing in London. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was clean. The room we had was small but this was fine for our needs. The breakfast was good and we also ate in the bar on two of the evenings as we were tired and didn't want to go into Watford. There wasn't a lot choice on the menu but we enjoyed the meals we had. The only downside to staying in this hotel was the noise from the train station. The trains ran all night and were very noisy but the hotel website does say that you can ask for a quiet room so if we were to stay here again we would do that. All in all we enjoyed our stay here.

Good value for money & handy for Harry Potter Tour

Posted 26-May-2015 on Hotels
Hotel was in good condition. Staff friendly and helpful. Room was clean and prefect for our needs. Pull out bed for family room not that comfortable to sleep on. Good value for what we paid for night as breakfast was included. Hotel perfectly situated for bus to Harry Potter Studios and train station. Pub beside hotel not bad but not much else to do in area. Would not walk around area at night.
