Excellent Service

Posted 22-Jan-2016
Pros: The staff were very pleasant, friendly & very helpful. Outstanding service. The rooms are also nice and clean.
Cons: TV signal very poor & new TV needed. Bathroom extractor fan poor Shower water pressure low Mattress a little too firm & pillows too soft
Location: Very close to main roads and motorway with lots of amenities nearby however noise was NOT a problem in the room.
The staff and service at this hotel are excellent. The room was also nice, clean & quiet. Breakfast buffet was very nice. The TV signal was very poor, updated TVs would benefit the hotel. The mattress was a bit too firm for my liking but this is a problem with most hotels for me. If I was being picky I would say the shower water pressure was a little low and the bathroom extractor fan was poor but these were very minor issues.

Average hotel, lovely food

Posted 14-Jan-2016
The hotel wasn't what I expected, the room was very average even though claiming to be a "Deluxe" room, I would rather stay at a premier inn, the room was clean, bed was slightly hard, the TV was very fuzzy, if it wasn't for the amazing food I wouldn't go back, disappointed I paid £100 a night.

Hilton Budget hotel

Posted 03-Jan-2016
All in all I felt like it was similar experience to that of say Premier Inn or Travelodge. Basic facilities and no additional touches like complimentary toothbrush or anything. Felt it was like a budget version of Hilton and definitely not the best I've been too. Staff were fine and helpful but could see used plates and glasses outside in the corridor for 2 days and cigarette smell in the corridors. Didn't feel like the cleaners really cared. Could have been better for a named hotel like Hilton for the price I was paying.

Mediocre hotel With not very nice views

Posted 27-Dec-2015
Very mediocre and anonymous hotel in terms of decor and overall looks very dated . The views were of service yard and roundabout, and lots of traffic noise from the M1. Breakfast was good but nothing out of the ordinary. There was noise from the corridor fire door adjacent our bedroom slamming .

Shabby down at heel Hilton

Posted 16-Dec-2015
The refit for this hotel was probably due some years back. Today it's sad, a bit tawdry and downright depressing. Even the Ibis group renewed their mattresses ensuring a good nights sleep. This is the worst review I have ever written. I clock up 40-60 nights/yr in hotels. If this hotel doesn't refit it should change to a two star rating and charge £45 a night.

Convenient for one night stop.

Posted 09-Nov-2015
Pros: Staff were very polite and helpful. The room was a reasonable size.
Cons: A notice in all the rooms requesting that TVs and other noise be kept to a minimum for the benefit of other guests.
Location: Easy to find and on the main road with choice of nearby Restaurants.
We stayed here overnight as we had an early start the next morning in Watford. Although we were allocated a quiet room, away from the Saturday night function room, other guests were very noisy and excited when in the corridor outside. The TV in the adjoining room was clearly audible in ours until very late, perhaps because the sound proofing between rooms was poor. There appeared to be no consideration by some guests for other guests. However, bearing in mind it was a Saturday night, it was adequate, albeit we could have enjoyed a better night's sleep.

Nice overnight stop

Posted 08-Nov-2015 on Hotels
After a 17 hour day and over 400 miles a driving between appointment I had an over night stay before going in to London for another full day of meetings. The reception was relaxed and polite with some nice conversation, my room was easy enough to find. The evening meal was easy to book and a relaxed experience. Check out was also a drama free experience too.
