Excellent service

Posted 15-Jan-2018
From reception to restaurant, great welcome and excellent service. Hotel is well placed and feels like it has been recently refurbished. Overall very enjoyable experience and very good value for money with free parking and free Sunday newspaper as added extras. Expectations exceeded on this occasion

Two night stay

Posted 04-Jan-2018
Pros: Good location for Warner Bros tour.
Cons: Change of restaurant manager as she was not interested. Better communication prior to visit as I had low mobility and the lifts were out.
Location: Warner Bros Studio Tour nearby.
The lift was out of use and we were not notified of this prior to stay and I was using walking aids. I was asked to go out of fire exits using outside in the rain in order use the dining room. The toilet didnt flush on arrival but they did sort this once I’d complained. The resaurant is very slow, we had one course and it took 90 mins, gave up on dessert and cancelled it.

Horrendous service

Posted 22-Dec-2017
The overall experience at this hotel was terrible. The staff were very rude and in helpful. Waited 30 minutes in the bar to be served 2 simple drinks as the bar manager and staff were arguing with each other in front of all the customers. Room service delivered the complete wrong food after an hours wait and only to have the staff delivering the food moan about how busy they are and the hotel doesn’t hire enough staff, very unprofessional

Hilton Watford

Posted 16-Dec-2017
I arrived at 5 pm during a week day and struggled to find a parking space. The hotel was full. At check in again several people were in front of me at the queue but there were three receptionists so I did not have to wait long. I noticed that every person at the queue was being shown were the lift was so I was a litttle bit surprised that at my turn the receptionist said ‘you know where you are going, right ? ‘. I had been to the hotel before so that was not an issue but I was not told that there were a second lift down the corridor that would take me to my floor and was literally next to my room. Instead I entered the lift and walked all the way around until I found my room. The bedroom was really spacious (room 283) and a king suite. It was very well laid out with a small bathroom, large living room, bedroom and main bathroom. I noticed a large crack around the bedroom window , the door separating the bedroom from the living room would not close as one of the doors was out of its runner, two lights off in the main bathroom. The hot water took ages to come and I was about to give up the idea of having a shower to try the bath taps when I realised the water was heating up. Plenty of amenities were offered . I found a hair at the corner of the shower wall but apart from that I had a good shower. There were two bottles of water at the desk but I had no idea if complimentary or not as there was no info . The room felt cold throughout the night. The bed was comfortable.

Luxury

Great stay at the Hilton - the King sized bed was really comfortable and the room itself was very spacious. Excellent facilities - modern TV, great shower/bath in the en suite. Breakfast was delicious and made a great change compared to most hotel's buffet breakfast. The chef was on hand to make omelettes/poached eggs as and when we wanted, with their scrambled eggs being a particular favourite of mine. Polite and helpful staff, lovely place!

Functional Hotel near to Motorway links.

Posted 08-Dec-2017
Pros: The staff and the cleanliness of the room.
Cons: Free wifi and a better bar with a better range of beers.
Location: Practical. On the outskirts of Watford but not suitable for walking.
The hotel was OK with average but nothing special breakfast. The staff were efficient and courteous but I was extremely surprised by wifi not being covered by the cost of the room but available at an extra cost. Granted the wifi would be free if you joined their loyalty club but since I have no likelihood of ever staying at this or another Hilton hotel again this was no incentive.

Lovely hotel close to Harry Potter Studios

Posted 03-Nov-2017
We stayed here for one night with three children after a very tiring day at Warner brother studios. We had a king size bed which we shared with our 2 year old and a sofa bed. The rooms were lovely and clean. We had a lovely sleep and Buffett breakfast. The staff were very kind and attentive and the bonus was the car park on site. We will definitely be staying at the Hilton again.
