Nice, comfortable hotel
Nice, family style hotel. Dated, but clean and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Very comfortable beds. Lovely breakfast. I would recommend this hotel.

What a lovely hotel stay we had here The hosts were lovely, friendly and gave great information. The room had a lovely view was quiet and the bed comfortable. We stayed here as we're going to a wedding just up the road 8 mins away. This hotel was really worth every penny and we would stay again.

Nice basic hotel. Staff were excellent. Only criticism they stop serving food early and also the hotel details do not specify that it is near a railway line ! Generally overall 8/10

Friendly staff and made to feel very welcome despite late arrival. Was also very kindly assigned a larger room than booked due to the weather. Room comfy and clean plus very hearty breakfast.

Great weekend break in St Albans!
What a lovely, well run hotel in St. Albans! We really enjoyed our two night stay in our triple room. Comfortable beds, nice toiletries and piping hot water for a bath. We also enjoyed a tasty meal in the restaurant which overlooked the beatiful gardens. Would highly recommend!

Pleasant stay.
The hotel is in a good location, around 15 minutes walk to the centre. There is also a pleasant garden to the rear. However, we were rather disappointed in the size of the room and the fact that it only had a shower. So we ended up paying extra to get a larger room with a bath. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

Tired but homely
This hotel definitely needs an update. Bedroom was very small and shower was literally a trickle. Everything is very clean but very old fashioned and in need of some updating. Breakfast was very good and a nice atmosphere. Hotel close to centre of St Albans just a 20 min walk. The receptionist needs a little training on how to greet her customers as she was quite rude. We have compared it to Faulty Towers all weekend. We have enjoyed our trip very much and would recommend it to people who want to just use it as a base while visiting family as we were. The gentleman owner and the girls serving breakfast were very nice indeed.

Overall a very pleasant stay - the breakfast was nice and the staff were very friendly. For anyone who wants to stay in St Albans this hotel is great especially because of its location. The hotel is quite old fashioned and outdated but it does add to the charm , would of liked the bed to be bigger and also the room however overall it was a pleasant stay
